If the orginal petrol can run gas can too. The only problem you might not have enough gas to make sense in the first place. The consumption gas is super high. On the long run gas is hotter and dry, might not be advice-able if it is stock. If the engine is design to take 1 bar then i dun see y not. If you mod a engine that is not design to take 1 bar then beware of something may piang!

Turbocharged
in one of the posts it was already mentioned workable..

but i've heard (not verified yet.. till now unable to contact the workshop) that boxer engines may have issue..

just now managed to get someone over the phone.. tc/sc is fine, but they don't have the kit for boxer flat4 engine..

they are currently waiting for a trial kit from italy, est. arriving somewhere in feb.

till they have completed their trial, it could be a few weeks to months..

hopefully by then, more cng stations would have 'sprouted'.. making it more justified to convert wink.gif

Guys, the problem is not Porsche or Subaru or Lambo...

Teh issue is that the flat four of Subary has the manifold in a 2 + 2 design. With CNG injection, it must be installed in such a manner that the injection rail is at the same distance from all 4 manifold inlets. With normal cars, they are next to each other. But not in the Subary 4cyl. The 6cyl is easier.

The injection rail for a 4cyl is normally 1 pc. The injection rail for a 6cyl are 2x 3rail pieces - so it's easy there. In other words the 2 + 2 rail is needed. Hope I make sense.

Anyway, the kit is coming in and if anybody wants to try call up.

Thanks for the explaination. This is very informative.

BTW, do they have a warranty, incase they blow up the engine during the tuning? [sweatdrop] I don't suppose they would actually buy a flat 4 and do their trials prior to selling the kits right?

The kits are tested on agents cars in Europe prior to allowing them for overseas sales. So engine blow ups are something that happens during R&D - not during actual installation on customer's car. Again, CNG is not new - it's been around for over 20 years now.

Neutral Newbie

Hey guys, i'm trying to convert my Hyundai Tucson into a CNG vehicle. I am wondering, after conversion... will adding a CAI or K&N filter help to maintain the performance, even abit? TCs or SCs i know is out of the Q. Can the above mods work in conjuction with CNG fuel to improve power?

I want to do this because I know that CNG 'suck' some power if im not wrong... and as it is, my tucson's pickup and power is already very slow. Any slower then lane change, filter or want to overtake, I feel... will become more difficult and dangerous liao.

I am running on K&N when converted lahh. If you worry about power don't convert. I converted and "SATISFIED". And I am still "alive" FYI when replying this. It speaks a million words by itself if you get what I mean. Read slowly and understand my words. It takes IQ to understand my quotes.
