Yeah I know what you mean. Now if can find compatible smaller replacement petrol tank. Maybe around 15-18L instead of the 50L tank I have. Mount a smaller cylinder undercarriage next to the halved petrol tank.

if not I lay the 40L tanks flat side by side and box it up and I get some table space ...LOL enuf liao better than the 66.5L tank an increase of 14L in all. At least can last 1 week ....LOL or 5 days. Now i am averaging 3days topup once

After looking at the 2 x 40L tank, I am now considering whether I can convert my 66L tank to 2 x 40L. Don't know whether it is possible and what is the cost?

Go to spritmonitor.de and search for cars with CNG. Compare and see how we fare against them. Average CNG consumption in the database is 5.97kg/100km. Mine is definitely on the lean side at 4.6kg/100km. I converted it to petrol equivalent. 14.5km/L. Got to get that low end tuned up.

Anyway, I included the link to my Spritmonitor page below. To bad admin does not allow image tags.

If I am not wrong, my total cost was around $4.2k before GST. The savings on my new car after the Green Rebate was really insignificant after the conversion. $1k to be exact.

Well, based on my mileage, I should easily save around $300 per month compared to my old car running on petrol. [:)]

genie.. im abt to convert my car. currently im getting abt 10km/L. how much mileage can i expect to get from 12kg of gas?

L petrol to kg gas you multiply by 0.669.

So 10km/L = 10km/0.669kg CNG

12kg/0.669 = 17.93

10*17.93 = 179.3km

This is just a ballpark figure. It is not accurate.

Bro try driving at 3K rpm then shift on gas. Yup you need to rich up if you want power but that will also be some consumption. Drive a bit let the ECU adjust and see how ... if that bad then may be need to re-tune.

I am also planning to CNGify my airwave. [;)]

Seems that you drive around alot and so it is a better choice for you to install 2x40L tanks 1) Do not need to make too many trips to the station

2) You will can recover the cost of the installation faster [thumbsup]

But is the suspension able to take the weight when there are 5 adults?

hey bro,

Locally? None. Only saw a Malaysian Unser with undercarriage installed cylinder and I suspect that is the second cylinder. That is some serious range it has if it is the second cylinder.

my friend commented that carrying CNG tank in your boot is akin to those lorries ferrying LPG cylinders..dont feel good sitting on half a bomb.. [:/]

but ah, is it worth it to do conversion to a 5yo car? taking into consideration that im gonna scrap my car on it's 7th year..

Tell your friend one gallon of gasoline has the explosive power equivalent to 22 sticks of dynamite. Ask him if he is comfortable with that. Obviously he has been kiasu/kiasi in the wrong place and is as complacent as the guards that guarded MSK. rolleyes.gif

For a 5yr old car, forget it. Buy new and convert better now but make sure you can get access to a filling station in your daily route and you don't intend to move in the next couple of years.

Hi

Even though you need to travel over 20km to nearest filling station, it is still cost effective than using petrol. The saving may not be as much as those stay near to the filling staion, like Genie, but definitely there is some saving.
