As this is quite new, ins co require sometime to decide whether they want to charge more or not.. currently it's status cold.

Cos in the in event of an accident or fire or whatever damage that is caused by the CNG and your policy does not cover it. The ins co has the right not to pay your losses.

My insurance is with comfort delgero under the TMW plan thingy. The CNG is fully covered under this plan for 5 yrs. I just signed an agreement on the declaration that I installed the CNG on my car.

For insurance, if they can accept your premium, they are oblige to cover unless they can proved it has been tampered with post installation. In fact, if it is due to bad installation, I believe the driver should also be able to sue the workshop.

Whoa... covered for 5 years. Which insurance co and what is TMW ??

Good for you, you have an agreement. Even for poor installation, you can claim your own ins then let Ins Co recover the $$ the workshop.

I really need a tune up. I'm burning up gas with my high revvs just to launch off without stalling. Range reduced to 150km. Wife is working this Sat. Might drop the kids off some place for this tune up.

From article, ideal combustion for CNG air to fuel mixture (AFR) is 16.5:1 whereas Petrol AFR is 14.7:1. There is to say that CNG (methane gas) use less fuel than petrol. Is it right to say that CNG is more fuel economy than petrol putting the $$ aside? Is it right to say that if my car using petrol is 10km/l and running CNG is 12km/l?

Confused?

Just realised I made an error on the reply, better clarify it.

The warranty of the car (inclusive of CNG) is 5yrs offer by Comfort Delgero through this TMW scheme thingy.

Anything wrong with the CNG installation, I will go back to Comfort.

I have not gotten a quote from my PI coz delivery date is still few weeks away.

hahahaha thanks .. i have placed my order for a fit08 with cng ... i will post pics for all and post the fuel economy status to share ok?? thanks thanks so much

wow, fit already very fuel economy at easily 15 - 18 km per litre... plus using CNG then sure petrol/CNG running bills monthly would be less than $200 considering normal usage of less than 1500km per month? wow!

I just fit 17" rims on my Airwave and my mileage drop from 280km to 240km pumped at Mandai. After that, I pumped @ Jalan Buroh and it gave me only 200km before the CNG ran out. [sweatdrop]

Do you have similar experience pumping @ Jalan Buroh?

The latest tuning isn't that great. Car now afterfires sometimes. TOK or POK! sound.

I'm doing some reading. Since our cars are manuals, we have to tune it the old fashio way. I will explain.

The OMVL piggyback is actually a dumb thing. It takes the injection cycle for petrol and uses it. Uses it and extends and whatever it needs. Actually rather stupid especially if you have a manual. OK for the auto.

To tune it the old fashion way, we have to use lambda values. Stoichiometric ratio as someone has mentioned earlier in this thread is 16.5 to 16.8.

So for stoichiometric setting Lambda = 1.0 since Lambda is AFR/AFR(stoic).

So throw away the stupid AFR you see for petrol. Different fuel will have different AFR for stoichiometric ratio. For petrol it is 14.7 and this is way far off from 16.8! However lambda should be the same.

Therefore, we just follow the mapping in lambda terms! VIOLA!

Now if I can convince our techs from Melchers to rent some time on a dyno for this purpose.

See the link here for lambda values: http://www.gasresearch.com.au/gratus.pdf Remember, the AFR values means nothing at all!

You know what, I got a strange feeling after time our bloody ecu will learn and revert back after some time. I really ran out of ideas on how to comprmise this. Mine the power depends on the weather. It does cause some effects due to the AFR. So heavy rain or very hot weather the ratio is off when i clutch in and stall the engine under full load condition. The ECU did try to idle up but due to lag in calculation or throttle reaction to idle up it fizz out and stall.

Let me know of the outcome. I beginning to live with it but if there is a solution I will go for it.

Hi,

Is yr CNG using OMVL Dream XXI-P injection? I think there is a technical support

email: [email protected]

Did ask them some general questions regarding their products sometime ago. Contact:

Marco Boccardo

Product Development Department

[email protected]

OMVL S.p.A.

35020 - Pernumia (PD), via Rivella 20

Tel. +39 0429 764177 (direct)

Fax. +39 0429 779068

www.omvlgas.it

I got a softcopy of the CNG installation kit(Italian&English) version (consist of operation, installation guide, wiring diagram 3,4,6,8 cyl etc) from them and requested for the tuning using the software. The free software link as below, can download from there.

http://www.fesautogas.co.uk/dreamm.htm

Was refer to their Sale Department for the cable/ software programming manual but I was too busy to follow up to explore due to work.

I think they can advice better for your problem.

Regards
