Kianbeng Clutched April 23, 2008 Share April 23, 2008 You mean to say if I didn't want the box, it will not save me any money?
Kianbeng Clutched April 23, 2008 Share April 23, 2008 Wah....if someone were to install such a big cylinder nowadays, it will give extremely good range. ie, 1 time refill can last 600-700km??
Xuan511 Neutral Newbie April 24, 2008 Share April 24, 2008 lol make every trip to the refill station worthwhile =D and u won see cars around u within 10m range, even in a heavy jam
Genie47 1st Gear April 24, 2008 Author Share April 24, 2008 Last time engine technology not as good as now. That cylinder then maybe 200km. Now with our engine technology with microprocessor control, solenoid valves, cold air intake, MSD coil, can go 700km.
Kianbeng Clutched April 24, 2008 Share April 24, 2008 Are these parts you mentioned having any service / replacement intervals? ie, solenoid valve....I guess doesn't last too long?
Incom 1st Gear April 24, 2008 Share April 24, 2008 I guess so, never ask about that. Anyway the partition does not cost that much, i just take it as the plus point of the installation. Cheers
Genie47 1st Gear April 24, 2008 Author Share April 24, 2008 Solenoid valves must be replaced periodically.
Kianbeng Clutched April 24, 2008 Share April 24, 2008 once a year? once every 10k? Can advise service interval and costs? I think it will be very useful information to consider the cost of maintenance of this CNG installation also. Hopefully these serviceable parts are easy to find/replace. Hopefully don't have to go back to installer to replace.
Genie47 1st Gear April 24, 2008 Author Share April 24, 2008 You still have to go back to the installer for the solenoid valves. Mine are not worn yet. It's been a year since installation.
Kianbeng Clutched April 25, 2008 Share April 25, 2008 ok so that means the parts are probably not generic stuff.

Genie47 1st Gear April 27, 2008 Author Share April 27, 2008 Changed my plugs to BKR6E11. Normal ones. Gapped them to 1.0mm and the afterfires are gone however, if the RPM drops below 1600, it chokes. I assume the ECU compensates by dumping in more fuel to prevent stalling. The CNG ECU blur sotong follow. Then also when switch from petrol to CNG, the car slows to a crawl and cannot create enough torque to move. I free the gears and revv very hard to get it into action and it can go. Clearly a tuning issue. Just read that for CNG operation, idle should be on lambda 1.0 and for everything else from WOT to accelerating (power), 0.83 to 0.85. I'm looking around for a wideband EGO to borrow and fix it in so that Song can do his magic. WOT however must use dyno. Going WOT on the street is a bad idea.
