Super boring, where to go with family in SG?

Farmart?

IMHO, the farm itself is messy. Those stalls there are good for wives, who love to go wet markets. I used to find this place interesting but not anymore. I love to eat the BBQ birdie there.

Start the whole family on a new hobby....

Things that comes to mind and in no particular order are: [ol] [*]Golf (You get their undivided attention for 9 or 18 holes) [*]Sailing or some form of water sports (We are surrounded by waters) [*]Remote control cars (There is a track in the east)[/ol]

errm can explore the following

1. Reflections at bukit Chandu

2. Farms visit at Kranji Farway, got a goadt farm there, can feed goats, got nice koi farm there too

3. sungei buloh (same palce as the kranji farway)

4. ubin, fot cyclinhg and sea food

5. sentosa, very different nowadys, can try the ludge... haven't gone for the new musical fountain show but got good reviews...

hmm just some ideas [;)]

1. Sentosa? still a tourist spot to me. Ludge is the only thing that attract me there. New fountain show? My kids love to watch that Monkey KiKi, no more already?

2. Bukit Chandu, might have been there before.

Why not go Marina South for kite flying? I believe this will amuse the kids and let them have an avenue to burn their excessive energy. Can pop by Suntec after that for some grocery shopping (though I know you wanna avoid crowded malls, you need to do grocery shopping somehow right? And shopping for grocery tgt as a family is quite cool). Evening can go Turf City got dinner or just stroll around the old race course.

1. Frankly, I'm those type that shop only once a month. I will buy a few carts of groceries and stock up the fridge. I don't enjoy shopping.

2. Kite flying is great. Used to bring Kids to East coast but then the weather lately unpredictable.

Great website. I read the information there prior to spending the afternoon at Lim Chu Kang. Hot day but quite eventful!

I usually bring my family to parks...and just let my 11-mth gal crawl on grass, play with ants, grasshopper, etc.

Before she came along...my wife and I used to just chilled out in coffee outlet and chit chat for hours.

bring your wife n kids go see showflats, get some inspiration and motivation.. go for cruise, weekend getaway. or yeah maybe can go lengkee go check out the latest cars and promos.

I see showflats until heart pain. I lose money in properties so I've given hope on SG properties as a small timer. When I looked at the property prices of corner houses and bungalow in neighouring countries, so tempted to go and buy and then migrate for good.

Farmart has has its initial charm.

More like mkt place now.

A ghost town on weekdays and only 1/2 the stalls opened on weekends.

A victim of not enough publicity.

Kelpie,

I would recommend some places you can go with your family:

1. Bottle Tree Park: A new branch by the people behind Bottle Tree Village. You can fish there while the kids can catch the small fish at a smaller pond, kampong style. Kids who are too young to join in the action can just wad in the pond. There is a resturant that serves beer and food too. There is also a playground for children. The park is quite scenic and a good place to take family pictures

2. Vivo City: Parking is easier nowadays as the crowd throng AMK Hub

3. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve: Beware the mosquitoes though. May not be suitable for toddlers

4. Farmart

5. Pasir Ris Park

6. Changi Beach Park

7. Labrador Park

8. Bishan Park

9. Raffles Marina

10. Punggol Marina

11. Sentosa

12. Pulai Ubin

13. Clarke Quay

14. Boat Quay

15. Qian Hu Fish Farm

1. I used to play golf until my injury at the spinal cord. My kids used to follow me to driving range and the girl attended a golf school. Wife doesn't like golfing.

2. I think water sports not quite suitable for my 3 years-old son yet, may be later? Someone should think of a boat hotel of some kinds. Don't have to go far, just circle SG island will do.

In Singapore, everything is about money! Look at the kind of money that they denoted to charities. Can't they also donate fun for the maintenance of a big and free eco park for the Singaporean to enjoy? Sign, our cars can only take us to such few places in SG.

Didn't we use to do that during our childhood days. Catch spiders lah, jump zero point, hid-n-seek and etc [:)].

Yup. I must say those pass time hobbies are the most fun.

That's why I just let my daughter crawl on the floor occasionally and let her feel the floor, ants, etc.

It's true. I'm glad my wife is 'cool' about it.

I get a lot of stares whenever I let my daughter crawl on shopping mall (quiet section) floor. I just want her to feel different surfaces, etc. I will just wash/wipe her hands/knees after she is done with it.
