Joanne76 Neutral Newbie June 27, 2007 Share June 27, 2007 Hi Guys, Got a very minor accident while doing reverse yesterday morning, causing my spoiler to have a 0.5cm paint came off and a 1cm dent at the car boot. Very heartpain to see my 2 months old car became like that, esp the spoiler damage. It is so ugly as my car is black colour, making it more obvious. Shld i just leave it or is there anything i can do to patch up on these two damages? Thanks ↡ Advertisement
Nutty 4th Gear June 27, 2007 Share June 27, 2007 This is exactly what happened to me some time back. For the spoiler, I just touch up with paint since it is not very obvious from far. AS the the dent, I just leave it. Learnt a lesson there as in cannot always depend on reverse sensor. My reverse sensor failed to detect a protruding wooden plank as I was reversing. Luckily I was reversing real slow, so the impact wasn't that great. I guess, just learnt to live with this defect if it is very minor.
Joanne76 Neutral Newbie June 27, 2007 Author Share June 27, 2007 So wat kind of paint u used for the touch up? Is it very exp ?
Mzrmazda3 6th Gear June 28, 2007 Share June 28, 2007 (edited) Sis, you can get those touch up paint from the agent's spare part dept or if you have the colour code, can get it from Autobacs It should cost you 10 over bucks and it's a small bottle similar to those nail polishes However, applying the touch up paint is as easy as it looks cos it would be messy if it is not done properly Edited June 28, 2007 by Mzrmazda3
Joanne76 Neutral Newbie June 28, 2007 Author Share June 28, 2007 Okay, thanks a lot, will go to Autobacs and buy. Btw, will the patch looks obvious or different after touch up?
Maersk1 1st Gear June 28, 2007 Share June 28, 2007 you may visit PDR (next to capitol) to fix your dent... www.pdr.com.sg

Nutty 4th Gear June 28, 2007 Share June 28, 2007 Is your ride Honda? I went to Honda body repair workshop at Ubi, gave the workshop guys a wink and they gave me a free bottle of touch-up paint. If your ride is not honda, you can either try your luck at your AD, or go to car accessories shop to get the touchup paint.

Joanne76 Neutral Newbie June 28, 2007 Author Share June 28, 2007 So any tips in doing a nice touch up job?
Mzrmazda3 6th Gear June 28, 2007 Share June 28, 2007 Sis, PDR can only solve your dented areas but as for paint chips, they are unable to help
Nutty 4th Gear June 28, 2007 Share June 28, 2007 For touch ups... use a toothpick (those high quality brownish ones) dab the sharp tip with a bit of paint and slowly slide through the affected parts. By right after that needs to use sand paper to smoothen out the protruding part, but I think better skip this part. I dun dare to do it either. Some reading materials for you. http://autopia.org/forum/guide-detailing/8...int-clinic.html
Mzrmazda3 6th Gear June 28, 2007 Share June 28, 2007 For me, i'll use a toothpick and slowly apply over the affected area Do not use the brush that comes with it and paint like painting your nails else you'll Slow do the paint chip area bit by bit then wait for it to dry. After that apply a layer of polish/wax over The end result definately cannot compare to re-spray one and will still see the 'wound' It's just that you'll feel better with a layer of paint to protect the exposed parts due to the chip
Joanne76 Neutral Newbie June 28, 2007 Author Share June 28, 2007 Yes, i kw. Will get the touch up paint from Autobacs. My dent is at the cover of car boot, not bumper, so any cure for it? It is not obvious if u you look carefully but heart pain to see my new car became like that. ↡ Advertisement
