Where to get cheap and good durians?

Perhaps this may help. This Ah Loon and Ah Teck seems to be recommended. Don't know if they are reasonably priced.

Hi bro,

 

This few weeks is not a good week for cheap durian. Even my reliable stall at johor Jaya has increased to RM25/Kg for MSW. Durian plantation is about RM15~RM20/Kg. Maybe got to wait till mid or end of July for the price to drop. Pls call to check the pricing to avoid disappointment.

i just got from LH fruit trading 18Jul09 at Johor Jaya JB, 23MYR/kg for Cat Mountain King,

1 durian ~2Kg cost 40MYR abt 16SGD very expensive le, so just bought 1 with 5 others

mixed hybrid no brand durian at 10MYR/kg, total 90MYR :(

 

Cat mountain king was 18MYR/kg on 3Jul09 though..

 

Another is the fruit stall opposite New Lucky Restaurant (Jalan Keris) which is the Taman Sri

Terbrau hawker center, there selling 20MYR/kg for Cat Mountain King, the uncle showed me

i think his is fake Cat Mountain King haaa..

 

Also along Jalan Keris there is trucks selling durian, if looking for non branded durian

there also have ...

Went to Lian hoe fruit trading at Johor Jaya, Taman Sri Terbrau Fruit Stall at Jalan Kris,

only have no brand durians at Giant Plentong, Hwa Tai Pandan City ..

 

Where the Pahang durians how come not come ?

Just had MSW 2 days ago...... its selling real cheap. $5 also have....3 for $20 also have.

Just got 3 more....

 

Somehow, out of a total of 6 durians, all tasted good...... but the texture of 3 of them seemed too soft for MSW.

 

They had the trademark 5 pointed star pattern at the bottom & the ridge though. Fake MSW??? But nonetheless, still good for the price.

Yes, got 1 for $5 but size is smaller. I got the 3 for $20 type..... but as I mentioned, might be fake MSW as 3 out of 6 had texture which was not as firm as normal.

 

Yes, it's still there and understand from the stall that season will last for about 1 month. Was there on last Friday and there were baskets and baskets of the fruit (like 12 to 15) all waiting to be unpacked.

Durian season is back?? The last time I had was early August and the fruit seller mentioned the next season would begin probably in November. Have not gone out to look durian yet so would be interesting if this is the case.

Blk 506 pavement between the market and the HDB blocks. Large display rack of easily 15 feet in length. Cannot miss it.
