Freeman 1st Gear July 27, 2007 Share July 27, 2007 I'm currently using SingNet Broadband, keep encountering network error. Always need to wait for a long time for it to recover by itself. Can I check if anybody here experiencing this too? Is this normal or something wrong with my hardware? ↡ Advertisement

Foxfire Neutral Newbie July 28, 2007 Share July 28, 2007 It is very difficult to pin point your problem you are encountering at the moment. Suggest you call the help desk as they have a set of tools to analyze the line quality, your PC hardware and modem etc. They can only assist you if you give permission. And for line quality, they will analyze over a period of few days, thus they might not get back to you immediately. If you stay in an old estate, it might also be the quality of the copper wire. A lot of factors. Thing is, there is no outage at the moment, thus the problem should be specific. PS: Opinions are my own and does not represent that of my employer, . Apollo 1st Gear July 28, 2007 Share July 28, 2007 I think ur ADSL modem is the culprit sometime certain parts of IC/ resistor has heat dissipating issue and cannot work until the overheating stops or subsides

Casshern Neutral Newbie October 15, 2008 Share October 15, 2008 how old is ur modem? i'm with SNBB for 4 years now. and i recently faced the same problems as u, frequent DCs and slow reconnections. I tot SNBB had fcuked up but i took my chance with a Netgear modem. now i'm up and running with uber fast speeds and no disconnections execpt the routine IP renewal procedure. apparently its the 4 year old modem that gave me the problems. no surprising consider that it's always on for the past 4 years. if u wanna change to cable, think twice. My friends only get good speeds in the middle of the nite with cable and they all switched to SNBB. never look back after that.
Schneider79 Clutched October 15, 2008 Share October 15, 2008 Last week I got the same problem. Using the Thomson ST536v6. When into HWZ and readup the threads. Call up Singnet helpline like no help at all. In the end, reset the modem the problem solved.
Shull Turbocharged October 15, 2008 Share October 15, 2008 i was on starhub MOL Express(8Mbps plan) for the past 6yrs..got pissed with their speed and dumped them for SNBB.. now i'm on SNBB 10Mbps plan..and a happy man.. my download and upload can consistently hit the advertised speed of 10Mbps and 1Mbps respectively.. never had any reconnection problem except for the routine IP renewal..which took less than 1 min.. and best of all, i'm paying lower price for something better and faster..
