If you have a new car and like to use this new car for 10 years or more because of "sentimental" or it is very special to you (ie a gift from wife or dad), would you stay stock in everything (other than the usual wear and tear and maintenance stuff) or would you still continue to mod your car after you get your car (ie upgrade of parts like air filter to drop in, rubber brakes to steel or racing brakes etc.)?

i think the important thing is that you are happy with what you have or what you wanted to do. just mod whatever you want to, it your carwink.gif

I agree with you stock is the best but then there is another school of thought which says stock is not the best because manufacturers save cost...So everything cheap skate....and done at their optimized minimum cost.

So dunno which school is true?

For me, I still feel comfortable with stock. When it mods, I would choose something similar or close to stock specifications but better material or quality. Dun want to have any problems with the car. But then always heart pounding after that for a period of time...Wahaha!

since u intend to drive it for 10 years, it is important that you are happy with it. if not u will suffer for 10 years! go ahead and mod if it makes you happy. if u r really that sentimental, keep whatever parts taken out as a result of the mods and keep them at home lor. one fine day when u feel like it u can revert the all changes. [laugh]

hope u have a large store room.

Turbocharged

Like my car. Damn brake keep warping. Claimed warranty to get them fixed, but problem come back after a while. Until really tulan and gone to change the whole darn thing.

And yes.. intend to keep it for as long as possible nod.gif

My opinion, if its not too hardcore which possibly affect the car's reliability, you can just go ahead.

The key would be to do your research and get a reputable + reliable workshop to advice you. You will need to do sensible mod and don't get the cheap alternatives...go for the more reputable brands. Good mod doesn't come cheap....but expensive stuff will be unless if it doesn't go well with the rest of your car or mods.

Keeping it stock will be less of a headache but less exciting.
