I saw this cute car when I was in Paris in October. Very cute but it was driven by a big man inside. [sweatdrop]

More notably, saw more smart car, also very cute. [thumbsup]

My guess is not so soon as I last heard the authorised agents are still negiotiating about the Ceed's OMV which is quite high which the authorised distributors will find it hard to sell aganist mainstream Jap makes.

But if Kia could price the Ceed lower a abit then Hyundai's i30 locally, they have a winner on their hands as the i30 shares basically the same mechanicals and chassis with Ceed.

If Komoco able to launch their i30 locally,I don't see why Kia can't?

the i30 has OMV of around 16.5k and is priced around 64k.

There are many other interesting cars to get at that price (or lower).

I've since test driven the i30 and must really admit that it's drive is quite different from previous Hyundais of the past, doesn't feel like driving a Hyundai at all if u tape the badge on the steering wheel!

It has a conti-feel to it. The doors and instrument consoles are solidly built which I dare bet it's a class or two above tat of Impreza's 1.5R's or Tomyam's Altis dull-looking interior!

The i30 is in the same league of jap's bread and butter mainstream production car now and one must really go test drive and feel the i30 for yourself to believe wat I am typing here.

This is based purely on my personal observations!

Please don't permanently associate Korean cars with inferior-ness. If someone has improved and made a breakthrough, give them credit for it. After all, wasn't Japanese cars once seen to be inferior?

I think the KIA Ceed is a breakthrough. It also shows European car buyers have more sophistication than Asian car buyers in general, hence the cars designed for them have many superior points compared to cars designed for Asians.

I second that, the cerato's design is getting aged compared to other 1.6L cars in the market. I believe they would do alot better with the Ceed, if it only costs a few thousand more than the cerato.
