Mirrorimage 1st Gear August 30, 2007 Share August 30, 2007 Roger that. Exhaust valve is a valve like a throttle body flap except that it is located somewhere at your exhaust after the extractor. As such, you can choose to be stealth and close th valve, resulting in a smaller exhaust output, or go all out straight thru with it fully opened. usually used on front mounted engines turbo charged or very very power NA cars. For the MRS, the route leading from extractor to exhaust is already very short. As suchm i will think it will not be as needed on a turbo MRS as compared to like a turboed EG6 ` Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Chromas 1st Gear August 30, 2007 Share August 30, 2007 No, the valve is meant to make it more quiet by restricting your current exhaust flow. Currently, with your exhaust mod, I believe it's totally open. With the valve, you're adding the ability to control the opening size, thus the size can only go smaller (more silent) and not bigger. Yeobh 4th Gear August 31, 2007 Share August 31, 2007 The fuction of the exhaust control valve is to increase the exhaust back pressure- too much will kill the engine, too little or no beck pressure, engine will not be able to rev up smoothly with the correct torque output.
