Yeshe Turbocharged September 16, 2007 Share September 16, 2007 a better analogy would be when cars use high beam lights on a brightly lit SG highway on a clear night.. that's very similar to using hazard lights in a rainstorm.. have to correct you here. becos hi beam is not necessary, thats why nobody uses them when its well lit SG roads, TOTALLY different from using hazard light in heavy rainstorm, WHICH serve a purpose of increasing visibility. i just wonder, have you ever driven in very heavy rain conditions? even when you go as slow as 40-50km/h, you can hardly see 2-3 car lengths away. Thefear Clutched September 16, 2007 Share September 16, 2007 the common definition of "hazard lights", not just mine, is for use during emergencies or when vehicle is a hazard or becoming a hazard.. and yes, a hazard is stationary.. or going to be stationary.. normal moving vehicles are not considered hazards.. Thats where u r wrong bro, hazard lights simply means hazard in general, don care u stationary or moving. Or else y vehicles on tow, those big vehicle convoys with Cisco or TP all on their hazard lights n they r MOVING. I think it is these "ppl's" mentality... all i can say their brain is square.. brought up to believe hazard light is PURELY for stopping cos they learn it during driving lessons or see their dad's do it when they were young etc etc... Can't take it or huge culture shock for them to learn that there r more functions for that little red button with the triangle..
Gnoikj Neutral Newbie September 16, 2007 Share September 16, 2007 sure...its a complaints folder...too bad the complaint that another car using hazard lights in bad weather itself is invalid isn't it? so u complaining about other ppl correcting you now? Turbonetics 2nd Gear September 16, 2007 Share September 16, 2007 we should move on and not act like a 2 years old kid and keep brooding about it. anyway,i agree that during very heavy rain,it is not easy to drive more than 50km/hr due to the roads condition. maybe i should help him to quote one more example of rear fog light being on.it is not illegal but improper. Gnoikj Neutral Newbie September 16, 2007 Share September 16, 2007 I still fail to see where it states that its an offence for cars in Singapore to use hazard lights in adverse weather condition... I guess unless legislation is enacted to satisfy your whim, you'll simply have to put up with cars like mine that switches on hazard lights because we aren't contravening any laws... Gnoikj Neutral Newbie September 16, 2007 Share September 16, 2007 So its improper....so its kiasu/kiasee/kia whatever, its not legally wrong...u can't successfully convince everyone who has a different perspective from you based on your own perspective alone...respect our views just as we wun slam you if u decide NOT to turn on hazard lights.... ↡ Advertisement
