N95 is definitely the "IT" phone for now. Best all rounder, even though it has been around for quite a while. I think once you buy an N95 - Easy to resist temptation to upgrade so easily.

 

I agree with you on the last sentence. The N95 has everything built-in. No other device has so much features. But only thing I wish is a touch screen and qwerty keyboard. that will make it the ultimate device. haha.

Mine is 8GB version. Even when I point the damn thing outside with window down, by the road side in open space/road still does not help, very frustrating!

I just tried standing next to my office's window. I got a fix within seconds. I'd say this is fast. BTW, the last time i used it is last week not anywhere near my office.

So N95 support two types of GPS, ie. Integrated GPS and A-GPS? and A-GPS is chargeable due to GPRS data.

I switched to a N95 in Feb08. LCD display died 9 days later. Sent to Nokia service centre and was unable to fix for 6 weeks. Experienced horrible service both with the Tampines century Nokia centre as well as Nokia Singapore HDQ. They gave reasons that there is no replacement stock for the LCD.. need to manufacture in China and ship over. Utter nonsense! In end i managed to write to Nokia GM in Singapore and he immediately replaced phone with N95 8GB black model. I sold it right away. Never ever going to buy Nokia again in my life.. read about the horrible service in newspapers???

 

Hope this is enough warning on the N95/Nokia.

Never depended on my n95 gps, always faster for me to refer to my street directory

it's only in overseas whereby road sign is miles apart that we might need GPS with maps.. in singapore, I find that GPS is not helpful in certain instances.. too many instructions within a short interval.. or maybe those software I tried CMI

GPS cannot make it! sometimes cannot even connect after 15 minutes or half an hour. So if you want the GPS function, then can forget this model.

Try to upgrade your firmware to 20.0.016.

Batt life improve, i charge every 4 days(left with 1/2bar), 30sms/day, 10 calls/day. GPS once a blue moon.

 

GPS pickup fast, but in "cold mode", take abt 10mins.

"Warm mode" abt 1~5min, depend on sky....

But heard batt life not as promising... paying a good 400 plus for the phone. i want to know all the comments i can garner, as i gotta stick with it for at least a year. Yeah

I am using N95 and love all the function!!! they have all the function of the I-pod. I use it to watch video, play video cam, camera, play mp3 etc etc but play too much, VERY NIGHT I need to charge my battery......

BTW, it really depends on your luck.. I do have friends whereby theirs took quite a while to get the signal.
