Carphant Neutral Newbie September 19, 2007 Share September 19, 2007 End of the world coming? Typhoon Wipha Slams Into China's Coast; Heads Toward Shanghai. Typhoon Wipha slammed into the eastern coast of China with winds of 185 kilometers per hour (116 miles per hour) and headed toward Shanghai, the country's financial capital, where 200,000 people were evacuated. The storm's eye crossed the coast in eastern Zhejiang province after 2 a.m. today, according to latest advisory on the Web site of the U.S. Navy Joint Typhoon Warning Center. The storm was moving north-northwest at 20 kilometers an hour with winds gusting to 232 kilometers per hour. The storm crossed the coast in Cangnan county near the city of Wenzhou, which is 340 kilometers south of Shanghai, according to China's official Xinhua news agency. As many as 2 million people were evacuated in eastern coastal areas, Xinhua said. The government of Zhejiang province, where Wenzhou is located, yesterday warned coastal residents on its Web site that the storm will be ``very strong.'' Wipha was forecast to be close to Shanghai by about 2 p.m. today, the U.S. Navy center said. The Shanghai Stock Exchange said it will take ``emergency measures'' if trading or communications systems are affected by the storm, according to a statement on its Web site yesterday. In Taiwan, the government closed markets and offices and warned of heavy rain and strong winds as the typhoon passed north of the island yesterday with winds as high as 250 kilometers per hour. Taipei and seven other cities and counties were shut for the day. The Taiwan Stock Exchange and other exchanges also closed. Wipha is a name given to women in Thailand, according to the Web site of the Hong Kong Observatory, which lists cyclone names in use in the Pacific. It's the 13th storm of the northwest Pacific cyclone season, according to the Web site of the U.S. Navy's typhoon center. ↡ Advertisement
Gilgamesh Neutral Newbie September 19, 2007 Share September 19, 2007 Nope....EOW not coming yet ...., well, at least not until the next mountain falls from the sky as it did 64 million years ago. Most probably its a case of "We reap what we sow" - we give sh!t to Mummy Nature and she just returns the favours. Sadly, most of the sh!ts are returned to the poorer countries which mostly are not the sh!t givers in the first place to begin with. Now I just hope that Mummy Nature will open her eyes and dish out her wrath more accurately.

Watching on the web posted by you, one of the video on: "Decoding The Past Doomsday 2012: End of Days". Alaska is shifting to the equator and SG will shift northward. We will have 4 seasons after 2012 when the poles shift. If only scientist is accurate in their prediction. No wonder SG wheather patterns had been unpredictable so far.
