How about autobacs?

For normal oil change servicing? I think most WS are okay if for normal oil change. Just that it's best if you stick around to see if they really do their 16-point check or what not.

And instead of basing your trust on a 'workshop', I rather trust individual 'mechanic'. Cuz if this mechanic damn good and does everything well for you, if he leaves the WS, no guarantees that the next mechanic can deliver on the same or higher level.

From a business standpoint, if the WS can guarantee the standard of every mechanic, then i would say that the boss has done a good job, and deserves to drive any car he wants.

Went there few years ago to change tyres. That time they advertise price with GST included.

But during payment they added extra 7% for GST.

Had to show them their advertisement before he unwillingly refund the cash to me.

Can see that guy was unhappy.

Did not go back again after that.

Don't mind asking which tyre brand did they sell to you?

Used to go there many years back when working around Ubi. Their house pour (Elf - 25W50 then) was value for money. Usually just stand around and observe them work.

However other services their price is a little on the high side so never used them before.

Bring back old memories. [laugh]

Yeah.

Once my car air con could not blow any air. I had to go to that area to get it check as I was nearby.

It was on a Sunday and they are the only workshop open.

At least they are able to tell me its a compressor issue and did not charge me.

From there, I was able to go to a workshop that specialise in air con compressor replacement.

just keep them as a last resort ... there aren't many workshops open on sundays and operate such long hours.

Back in Year 2002-2003, I went to this workshop on 2 occasions for my Dad's car oil change servicing using ELF engine oil.

I still remember the Supervisor is a lean built guy with long hair.

So far so good.

Didn't go back to them thereafter, as there are other better workshops available for choice.
