Run Flat Tyres

Hard to justify the cost and comfort trade off especially on Singapore roads where the chance of puncturing tyres is low.

Even when I go Malaysia frequently I have never encountered tyres puncture while driving.

Anyone heard of self sealing tyres? Was told some tyre brands carry this but seems not very popular as personally I've not heard of it before till recently. Feedback and comments please, thks in advance!

Follow the tyre sticker at driver door for best tyre fitting

I wish to follow the sticker on the door but unable to find a suitable tyre available!!!

I asked around for 225/50 R18 tyre, they say this is odd size and not readily available.

Why 225?

Should get 245/45/18 right? I think its quite hard to find run flat tyre. By the way ur audi got spare tyre? If don't have then u indeed should get run flat.

Can try search carousell for ur size, then can give u list of places that have them. However i would like to say run flat tyre is expensive, for such size be prepared to fork out 400-450 each, unless get used with good tread hehe

there is a thread on self sealing tyres actually

and yes my car is on self sealing tyres from the factory

while i think they are better than run flats in concept and worth the extra cost over normal tyres, however the stock availability and sizes are very very limited as the tyre manufacturers only produce for those car models that are specified by car manufacturers

It is the recommended size as per manual. Isn't 245 for 18" too wide?

No spare tyre. Comes with air pump and sealing canister.

Follow the tyre sticker at driver door for best tyre fitting

Thanks bro. Need some advise. Am going to change my rims from 17 ( run flats) to 18 (non run flat).

Do I need to follow the staggered tyres recommendation on my car door? Or should I not stagger it? What would you guys recommend?

Appreciate the inputs.

Thanks.

Went to Hankook yesterday and they also no have 225/50/R18. She recommended 235/50/R18. She recommended V12 Evo v2 tyre.

Just to add. The lady also advise me to not go with the odd size tyre cos in case need to change tyre, then will have to wait long long long as it is not a popular size.
