I'm now using the Billion Super Thermo LLC (as stated in the container) its pink in colour and doesn't require to add water but do check on the radiator once a while to top up I got it for about $78. I still got quite a fair bit of left over from the first fluid change.

Does that mean we can top up water in the coolant

which the petrol kiosk uncle always do..

Normally how long do we refill the coolant?

able to wait till servicing period?? [:)]

I hear every 20k km do a flush to replace with fresh coolant.

No need every 20k. Depends on your belt change interval. Save your cash. Water pump comes off, coolant comes off and replaced with fresh new coolant.

It helps to keep it 50/50. Any leak is easily spotted as crusty deposit if it is 50/50. 30/50 antifreeze/water, you can smell it leaking but dunno where. No crusty deposit present usually.

So every 100k km? sweatdrop.gif

I occassionally pour little bit coolant into radiator directly, just a few drops each time. Hope this will keep the coolant life longer.

"i want to know what if i use 100% coolant with out adding water? "

instructions r on the bottle for a reason

:) u can do what ever u like... but the manufacturer will tell u wen u complain

I told u so....

No benifits , actually is deteremental, as coolant has lower heat transfer properties vs H20. Coolant is more a anti-freeze/ anti rust /lubricant property. but typically, your car will not explode when u try 100% coolant :)

Listen to Genie.. he's the guru on this. If you want top quality goto the marketplace folder, see the feller giving away 2 bottle of battery water.

take from him, and pour into the radiator! thumbsup.gif

Actually it is distilled water.... dun worry abt the battery water label. mini coolant for ur radiator and u will operate at optimal level.

It has to be coolant

Coolant meaning with antifreeze

Modern automotive engines contain cast iron replaceable cylinder liners that are subject to accelerated corrosion due to a process commonly known as liner pitting. Simply put, the vibrating surface of liners produces small air bubbles that implode, similar to what happens when you accidentally break a light bulb. The resultant shock wave produced by each of these imploding bubbles is 15 to 20 thousand PSI. In a system of pure water only where no inhibitors or glycol is used, the holes produced can penetrate all the way through in just 500 hours of operation. Coolant then enters into the combustion area above the piston and the piston hydraulics resulting in severe engine damage.

Just get the pre mixed coolant from the petrol kiosk. The most convenient way to top up your cooling system. Just open up your coolant reserve resevoir cap & pour in the premixed coolant to the correct volume as stated by your reservoir.

Don't go and waste time to get watever mix yourself type and be troubled with mixing ratio. Whether you did it correctly or whether was your water contaminated, whether you used distilled water etc etc.

As the coolant in your system sometimes bleeds off during extreme heat as coolant also expands, the reservoir serves as a reserve by replacing the coolant in the main circulating system. As time goes by your coolant will be bled and replaced till your reservoir is dry. So topping it up before that happens is necessary.

i think komoco changed my coolant at 18k mileage..

now 40k mileage, have not touched the coolant since. level remains between L and H.

so is it ok if i leave it til my timing belt change to do? thinking of adding RL water wetter in the meantime but not entirely sure if it's good.

my driving style is quite aggressive sometimes [sly]
