ya guys, i think nowadays everyone drive auto since passing (or some might be only have the auto license), need to drive a manual awhile then will have more feel, auto is easy to just step and go

--->but im definitely going for auto on my next ride

--i believe what many (as you said) family car drivers do is step alot alot pick up until 70kmh +/- then ease off the pedal, basically flooring or close-to-flooring just for the acceleration

anyway back to thread topic: what that covertible did may look ugly to some, but i think its only the right thing to do to make sure its displayed visibly [sunny]

Actually, not only P-plates kena horned by the vehicle behind once the light turns green. Those without also kena, from those impatient drivers who are rushing off.

Some are in a rush (I hope) as they filter to other lanes and rush off when there is an opportunity. While there are some who just horn for the fun of it and tailed behind u.... [furious]

If not for the long queue behind, I would have on my hazard lights, then get out of my car and ask the fellow behind "SMLJ??!!" [sly][laugh]

Exactly! I was so frustrated when i often found myself bullied on the road with that P-plate that i took it down after 3 months of getting my license. Wat a difference it makes! [lipsrsealed][sly]

be careful.. 6 pts.

Now i'm into my 3rd year since passing the test. Not putting p-plate works for me...though I don't really recommend this to new drivers who are still not confident.

If they high beam n horn, so be it. [rolleyes] u r driving a van... not a sports car. [sweatdrop]

Some of those 1.6/ 2.0 cars are not driven by the real owners. skali its the kids behind the wheel. [idea] Car langa... parents pay. [sweatdrop] Car damaged or anything cannot, also parents pay. [sly] Dun envy them. Some of these kids really good life. Haven't work, already got car to drive. Not their name also nevermind.

strange. my 1.1 is usually the first from the lights. unless got boy-racer beside me then i no chance la...

for manual, i like to accelerate briskly, step hard, but change gear early

e.g

1st gear, half throttle, rev til 2k

2nd gear, half throttle, rev til 2.5k

3rd gear, 1/3 throttle, rev til abt 2k

and so on... this method gives good pickup and good FC. my ride has no variable valve timing and weighs abt 100kg more than vios, can get 15+km.l with sensible driving.

i don't though, cos sometimes i redline [:p]
