Chucky2007 Turbocharged December 15, 2007 Share December 15, 2007 AMSoil 0w20. i use it on my 2.75year car at 92000km. So 10k will be ok to use. But personally, i still like the AMSoil 10w30 best.
Apollo 1st Gear December 15, 2007 Share December 15, 2007 if trex try redline or royal purple lor. if forklift enterprise, then is fuchs lor. otherwise u can invest in mobil one, though is harder to find.
Nelmo Neutral Newbie December 15, 2007 Share December 15, 2007 i used Schaeffer Supreme 9000 SAE 5W-30 for my 10k servicing on my vios... finding it good... it's quiet you can try looking here... http://www.mxxxxxxxxs.com/index.htm
Picanto 3rd Gear December 15, 2007 Share December 15, 2007 there is also the 5w 20 from schaeffer, but its a semi syn oil.
Nelmo Neutral Newbie December 15, 2007 Share December 15, 2007 (edited) yupz... that's the 7000 series... oh ya... to add on for the engine oil that i am using... it's nice for people who doesn't rev often... as some might find it a bit sluggish... Picanto 3rd Gear December 16, 2007 Share December 16, 2007 i doubt its the oil that makes the car sluggish. VIOS is not a car that's built for reving. take it easy on the accelerator and i think the car will do a good job than most 1.5l on the market. Onlyyouknow Neutral Newbie December 16, 2007 Author Share December 16, 2007 Thanks for the replies so far! Actually I'm looking at amsoil, royal purple and mobile one. Price abt the same from trex so just wanna know its good enough for the engine. I don't normally rev above 3k rpm so I think should be okay. Most likely get the mobile one from trex (only $13.50 per quart for the 5-20W).
Boyboy 1st Gear December 16, 2007 Share December 16, 2007 schaeffer semi syn will be good enuff for normal driving. mobil one u pay a little extra , but at $13.50 the price sounds reasonable.
Picanto 3rd Gear December 18, 2007 Share December 18, 2007 mobil is a more branded type of oil. we are paying for the name. i doubt the schaeffar oil loses out to mobil in terms of lubrication properties.
Garlic 1st Gear December 18, 2007 Share December 18, 2007 Amsoil ASM 0W20 is a very very solid oil, check out BITOG for more info. Fuchs 0w20 is also very well received but the local stockist is selling it @ S$30/qt!
Boyboy 1st Gear December 19, 2007 Share December 19, 2007 comparing fully syn to fully syn, i agree. comparing schaeffer semisyn to mobil fully syn, i'm not so sure. however, in my ride, i don't feel any difference between the abovementioned. haven't tried schaeffer fully syn yet tho

Onlyyouknow Neutral Newbie December 22, 2007 Author Share December 22, 2007 Took Terence's advice and used the amsoil 0w20 for my 10k servicing. Will be monitoring the change in FC and performance (if any) since I was on mineral previously.
Cavili Neutral Newbie December 22, 2007 Share December 22, 2007 I fully concur with Garlic, Msoil OW-20 is a rock solid oil and value for money. Am currently on this oil for almost 2k and fuel economy is pretty good. ↡ Advertisement
