Auto gearbox spoilt....trouble abit big....

I think 9k is for new.

 

I check around 1 see recon or overhual set for 2k-3k.

 

SO friday will try to make a trip down to

1)Khang's auto transmission company

2)top speed motor

 

to have a check at my trasnmission. Let them see if major repair is needed or small repair.

Currently I still can drive, but just the tiny knock when I drop speed and accelerate suddenly. Anybody encounter this problem before?

 

Other option include going scrapyard or getting from people who want to upgrade their auto transmission

I had a problem (Gear takes very long to engage reverse when engine is cold) & had it overhauled at Khangs. Cost abt $2K.

 

I cud have got a 3 year old Jap gearbox from the scrapyard for abt $300, plus another $100 for them to install it for me.

 

I suggest u check the problem & repair cost with Khangs & get a 2nd (or 3rd even) opinion from another autobox "specialist".

If from the scrapyards, about the same. $300 plus is a fair price for a normal Jap gerabox. Make sure they give u a guarantee in case it got problems. Then u can change it but u lose on the labour charge to install/remove. Maybe they can install for u so they wil change for free if it is not working.

continue to monitor lor. last time i got steering leak also lidat. then goto mech check, fwah... the blardee hole so small cannot see but when u turn the steering the oil squirt out beri beri fine one hit the fire wall. some more after changing hose, next the metal tube start to leak... KNS, one problem take almost 6 months to resolve.

 

almost SMLJ also changed.

Yup. Last time I checked with Seng Tat was that price. For $100 more, they will install it for u. They had an in-house mech to do the job. Now maybe is different.

 

2nd hand engine is also about $300.

Hi all..

This morning i experienced unusual long time for my AT gearbox to engage from 3th gear to 4th gear

Can felt that car had prepared to engage into gear 4th

But somehow it took quite sometime for it to lock up the gear

BTW mine is normal AT gearbox non CVT

Is this call gear slip or? Any remedy?

Done ATF flush less than 10k

Coming 3 yrs old ride

I assume this has only happened recently? Did you change out the filter when you did the flush previously? If not, there is a high possibility that the valve body lines are clogged (therefore not actuating the solenoid properly) or worst case scenario the clutch packs have already worn out and due for replacement (overhaul)... since 3rd and 4th are the most commonly used gears when driving around (I assume in general cases)

 

I don't think its a case of shift logic hiccup. Its either pressure lines blocked or worn packs. Locking is done by your torque converter, this is engaged when you are at cruise speed to help with efficiency. Hope this helps

I got a 7 yr Matrix 1.6A, and recently when i drive, the whole car vibrates when i accelerate from 20km/h to 30km/h, and also 70km/h to 80km/h. Above 80km/p or in between 40km/p to 70km/p no vibrations. Some says it might be engine mounting problem, and some says it Gearbox problem. I'm not sure what is it and heard that Gearbox cost a bomb like >$3k+ at least. Hope anyone can shed some light on the problem. Thank you in advance.

get it check at any automotive transmission repair shop b4 it gets worse.

i got mine repaired at 2k with 6 mths warranty in sin ming.
