Hi bro/sis,

my alarm remote key is combine together and currently i was so lucky that the casing gave way after 2years serving me. I got 2set from the se but this is the 2nd set tat casing break. [furious]

Right now, i call my se for the installer no. and was quoted $250 (inclusive installation) of a new set of alarm system. I feel i'm ripped off by them.

All i need is a new casing that's all. But the lady told me my alarm system has face out and thus required to change the entire system. [mad]

So any advice like where to jus get the casing or changing to a immoblizer type which maybe ard $250 price (I duno)? I dun really wan to spent such money when i can solve it easily but jus dun haf the source to get it.

Please relpy.. Thanks!!

$250 for a key or the whole system?

I know most contis' remote key fob cost about $250+++ to replace.

Are you driving a conti?

A cheaper way to survive is to lock the car with your key instead of remote.

Otherwise, you just have to pay for it.

why don't u post a picture of u casing. Perhaps any bro/sis who had a similar spare casing might help u. i myself kept some of different shapes, usually the 2nd set when selling off my previous rides.

cheers [flowerface]

Not the flip type.

It abit round and 2 small little red button with rudder case.

actually, $250 for whole system with 2 keys is not expensive.

you can even opt for the more advance type like viper which will let you start or immobilise your car remotely. those will probably cost $2-3k.

hey, i think ur remote is the same as mine!

1 year ago, my remote key casing break before. so what i did was i went back to C&C and they ask me to contact the vendor who fix my alarm. so they gave me the contact and i went to the vendor to change the casing. change the casing not expensive one.

however, not sure now whether they still support this alarm now. if not, then i also jialatz liao.

Shouldn't be a big issue. Just go to those key-makers who also sell those car alarm remotes, get them to see if they have any remotes that can be synced with your current alarm. Then just duplicate a key for the ignition. So you'll end up with the old-fashioned 1 remote & 1 key on a key-chain. Cost should be between $40 to $90, depending on the kind of remote you'd require. Can also buy 1 more remote at the same time to keep as spare.

S$250 for a control module with 2 keys & no additional features like remote-start/ boot release/ built-in engine shut-off timer etc, is EXPENSIVE. Mine doesn't have these extras, just the normal foot-brake auto doorlock, remote kill engine, immobiliser etc, only cost me S$138. 2-way alarm costs between S$350 to S$900 for a solid one. GSM alarm system is also around the same cost, but can use mobile phone to engage the features.

I called the vendor and that lady say our alarm has face out!

They dun carry that liao thus required me to change to a new set which the current cs3 is using. If i change to tat, few years dwn the road the remote crack again on the new design, and it's face out, i gonna change new one? They must be crazy or i'll be stupid enough to purchase that. unless if my alarm screwed up.

think there is shop opp Ubi car mart that is able to duplicate remotes .. can try. Dun think u need to change entire alarm system. Just change to a different casing if old one not available.
