Just curious, what is the current benchmark in starting pay for business graduates in the various industries? Assuming applicant is grad from local university?

What about managment associates in banks?

Consulting companies?

perhaps you can ask one of our member WEIXIANG06 who is a fresh grad, how muchie he get laid [lipsrsealed] , i mean paid..... [:p]

anyway, that's provided he ever come in and participate [cool]

SMEs mostly stay SMEs coz they dun see the need to pay as good and would suffice with standard to average talent.

SME normally paid its employee just enough for them to come to work, on the other hand, employees at SME work just enough not to get the sack.

Human Resources is also part art understanding about how the bosses & employees thoughts. As bosses, they are mostly guarded in paying well, worrying about cost without realising that if they pay peanuts you get monkeys.

As employees, all want to have high pay & less work. But in this world, how many job have less work & high pay ? Usually its more work with miserable pay. Employee fail to realise that without getting the necessary upgrading, their value drops as they aged.

Gone were the days when staff where paid to be loyal, staying more than 10 years in the company. Now the more senior you are, the more likely you may be mark for the sack if you can be replaced by someone younger & pay lower.

All Depends , starting pay around 3 k , but once established , commission ranges from 5 k to 15 k per month , if you are in a company that works on a commission scheme . If not under commission scheme , bonuses is supposed to be very good , ranging from 6 to 12 months . [thumbsup]

Downside , the bloodly working hours can kill you . 24 hours standby . Customers , suppliers and agents calling you at any odd hours [thumbsdown]

thanks for the head's up, am seriously considering venturing into this line. i guess the first step any potential applicant has to overcome would be basic shipping process at large.

How do you put a figure to pay stability or job security for that matter? Like some of the bros here have mentioned, banks may pay well during good times but they are equally quick to "chop" during bad times. The personal question that you need to answer is, are you going to make decisions in life based on the situation during good times or bad times, which would probably boils down to your risk appetite. Also, are you planning for the long term or just short term gains?

If the world's economy is going into the slumps in future (actually, it's not a matter of "if" but more of "when"), imagine the no. of people released into the job market at the same time, with around the same experience as you and probably hunting for the same job openings... Pay stability cannot be under-rated at times like these... Just my 2 cents.
