Sosaria Twincharged January 15, 2008 Share January 15, 2008 Electrical engineering?? Should be relatively easy to find good jobs. One thing about engin qualifications is that the pay may not be so attractive, but easy to find jobs... Unless you don't like engin jobs, then that's another matter. Don't go for those that specifically need experience, of course. I suggest you try to apply to manufacturing companies, e.g. wafer fab, as technician or if lucky, assistant engineer. Pay is definitely better than driving instructor and can get overtime (for technician level, at least). Good luck.
Picanto 3rd Gear January 15, 2008 Share January 15, 2008 maybe can also consider lowering your pay expectations
Ken_leong 2nd Gear January 16, 2008 Share January 16, 2008 I'm in engineering line too. It's always hard for a fresh (be it diploma or Uni) grad to earn a lot in the 1st 2 years after graduation. Just lower you expectations and work for a company in the related line. Pay not that important, gaining exp more important. With the exp, you can then get a better job or neg a pay rise. Thats why die die must work for a related field. If you work as a BBDC instructor, I foresee you will forever be a driving instructor(eiher school or private). If teaching driving is 1 of your interests, then good for you lor. If not, then suggest that you lower your expectations and start gaining some exp. BONGO Neutral Newbie May 19, 2011 Share May 19, 2011 Bro, in Singapore to graduate with just a Diploma and think can apply any job you want is wrong. It won't bring you anywhere. Nowadays job market ffor fresh Diploma holders especially like yours is only around $1500 to $1800. If you lucky can get $2200. Unless you got experienced and have other related Diploma even though it is from private courses, your pay will be around $2500 to $3500 depending on the job requirement. So, stop being so choosy. Gain experienced. Don't think graduated from Diploma either Singapore poly or Ngee Ann poly or othe government poly, your future is secure and hope for big salary. This is Singapore, face the reality. Got it!
