I agree with Bro Haurus

Mama lemon works well for me!

I wash the cars' rims once every 4 days, due to the fact that, i want to maintain the new look on the rims, so i don't give the brake dust a chance to BURN ONto the rims..

Thus, mama lemon and water, once every 4 days, works for me...

Mama lemon there is a few type of mama lemon. There is some with green tea type, natural lemon fragrance etc.So which one is recommended.

been using GT85 or Maxima Spray and Shine for my bike's rims.

both are quite nice cleaners... GT85 leaves teflon and SprayNShine leaves caranuaba wax...

easier to clean next time.. give it a try...

Bro, try Sonax Rim Cleaner. I see its good in getting rid of those brake dust. The solution turns reddish but quite smelly(hair salon smell).

Only thing that i find troublesome is, you need the rims to be cool before spraying and rinse throughly with water.

does it contribute to global warming?

Bro... try ARMORALL. It's good [thumbsup] , very easy to use [laugh] and cheaper than SONAX [sly] ! Been using this brand since I had my ride. Just spray on the rims and rub with a cloth. After cleaning with water you can feel the rim has been "waxed". [drivingcar][smash][bounce1][bounce2]

just to share what i did after similar experiences on dirty rims on my old car.

on my old ride, i chose a 3-pc rim design: racing hart type c (silver mesh with chrome lip). by the time i reached cleaning the second rim, my arms & fingers are numb..., not to mention my knees...

so, i decided to do something different on my next car on rim selection. i chose a simple design: five spoke. rim finishing: non-poweder coated; this means painted rims with clear coat finishing. before i installed the rims, i sent them for pps sealant treatment; i chose tough seal (http://www.toughseal.com.sg/pdts%20and%20range.htm). why tough seal? no particular reason except recommended by a friend.

the rims are now washed once a week with tough seal's "wash & gloss" followed by tough seal's "dry wash & guard". dirt & grime are easily cleaned off during every wash.

i know rim selection & finishing are very personal, so, it depends on the individual.
