I agree wif u dunno what's so nice abt eating abalone. Expensive & tasteless aso...very hard to chew. [sweatdrop][:/]

abalone is in same category as sharksfin to me..

 

not that great (sharksfin soup can be damn good but it's not because of the fins) and damn ex.

 

a status symbol for the consumer, and a great way to fleece consumers for the manufacturer [sly]

 

just like valentines day and other festive occasions. just for businessmen to ketok only [lipsrsealed]

GEYLANG got RAW one but i dun think is fresh [sly]

Dear Meadelx200,

 

You are right about that , let us assume that it comes from australia . you are right about the 425gm as most or all will indicate that.What i meant is using the selling price divided by the drained wt (regardless of how many piece inside one can) . that is where the actual cost of abalone is per gm for various brand.

 

Example : 1pc

 

Brand A - Drained wt 213gm selling @ S$55 - S$0.2582/gm

Brand B - Drained Wt 160gm selling @ S$43- S$0.26875/gm

 

Which is cheaper ???
