Ok, as promised. So far, have driven the car for 3 days + liao. Below are my observation. So far, FC unknown yet. Yet to monitor. But guess it should be around 13-14km/l.

The good:

- Engine is very quiet up till 3200 rpm

- Transmission downshift is very fast

- Good handling. Body roll is well controlled.

- Aircon blower is powerful [thumbsup]

- Turning radius is very small! Excllent for illegal u-turns [sly]

The bad:

- Road noise is = to that of my 2006 kia rio.

- HU is super user unfriendly.

- Cheap plastic feel all around. Fingerprints marks are so easily seen! [dizzy]

- Rear passenger seat backing feels too upright. Tiring for long journeys.

- Tachometer very small. about 7cm in diamter only...

Yea, the auto sports version.

Tyre is very odd size and hard to find a replacement...not good at all. I din know that the 16" they gave me is actually 195/45 [thumbsdown] and not the standard 205/45 as i thought it was [furious] Tyre is the Toyo Proxes.

Dear Mazda2 owners,

How's the car for those driving the Mazda2 after more than a year or 2? I'm considering a 2nd hand.

Thanks.

This isnt entirely the same, but should be close (I'm driving the 1.3 Demio).

FC wise I get about 13km/l upwards in 60% city and 40% highway driving (my foot is a lil heavy). I got 16.5km/l doing about 130kmh from Penang to KL. The car is very stable with almost no steering vibrations at 150+kmh, and it feels very surefooted even at those speeds.

I had no problems other than my speedo not working, but that was due to the IU installer who left the IU wire uncovered resulting in a crossed wire. Once uncrossed and wrapped with electrical tape it was fine.

I'll split the variations of the 2 you can get in SG between different pairs so you can see the differences.

Demio and V:

1) 1349cc for the Demio vs 1498cc for the V

2) 91ps for the Demio vs 103ps for the V

3) The V has foglights

4) The V has a 3 point rear middle seatbelt while the Demio has lap-sash

5) 14 inch steel wheels for the Demio vs 15 inch alloy wheels for the V

6) 4 speakers in the V vs 2 in the Demio

7) The V has a cover for the magazine holder (its open in the demio)

8) The demio has covers for the recessed 12v plug and 3.5mm audio jack (they are not recessed so they are not covered in the V)

9) The demio has auto retractable side mirrors

10) The demio is lighter by abt 50++kgs

11) Min RON92 in the demio vs Min RON95 in the V

V & R:

1) Bodykit and rear spoiler for the R

2) More airbags for the R

3) 15 inch wheels for the V vs 16 inch wheels for the R

4) 6 CD HU for the R vs Single for the V

5) The R comes with factory fitted leather seats

6) The R comes with steering wheel audio controls

7) The V is lighter by abt 30+kgs

R and R+:

1) The R+ has an even more aggressive bodykit

2) The R+ does not have foglamps

I'm driving a 1.5 yr Mz2 R (AT), mileage arnd 45K+ . So far so good, the only complaint that I have is the quality of the fittings. Starting to hear sounds due to loose fittings inside the doors.

FC around 12.5-13.5km/l based on driving 50% highway.

Difference of the V & R:

1) R has factory bodykit + spoiler.

2) 16" Rims + low profile tyres (45mm), V comes with 15"

3) 6 CD head-unit, V has only 1 CD head unit

4) 6 Airbags (all concentrated at the front)

After the $8400 discount is still at 65k. Might as well get Mazda 3 at 68k.
