Yeah... I just visited Suan Lum Market last night.

 

It is still as vibrant as it was, no signs of it closing down by month end.

If you're there early april, maybe you can try and see the Bangkok International Auto Show which is on till 6th april.

 

Shopping wise... MBK, siam square area, chatuchak are the usual places offered.

 

HWZ's thread is quite a good read, gives you an idea where to stay/go.

For shopping, you may consider the followings which are just near to each other.

 

1. World Trade center (see look only)

2. Platinum Plaze (look for the red heart in the map)

3. Big C (Look for the pink heart in the map)

You may want to plan a day @ Platinum alone for shopping, and you can settle your meal at the food court (5th floor), if I remember correctly.

 

If you are not staying at this area, then one of the nearest BTS station is Chitlom.

Going over in May. First day some shopping but second day will be whole day out at Ayutthaya. Next three days in Kanchanaburi then return to Bangkok for one night.

u staying which hotel? better avoid xxxsky...it looks like apartment and years ago there was big fire that killed several.It was very haunted.My ex-colleagues saw it.Even the hotel staff was afraid to enter their room.

Staying at Centrepoint. Free internet access mah. hehe.

 

Now freaking hot, think got 38 degs outside.

 

So we go back hotel bathe and relax first. Later go massage again. [laugh]

i stayed there last time... got free shuttle service to MBK and lucky didnt see anything dirty in the hotel...

Wah! Must tell wife. 38 now. Imagine May. It is my 10th anniversary. Tell her at night sleep naked with me at Kanchanaburi. sly.gif

the morning breakfast is good, location quite central i guess but i dont find the beds comfy
