Vtim 3rd Gear March 27, 2008 Share March 27, 2008 very likely the bulb is faulty if the brake light is using the dual filament. Just take out the bulb (the car manual will tell you how to) and look carefully into the bulb, you should see two pair of vertical prongs inside, the shorter pair of prongs will be the normal stop light and the higher pair will be the brake light. Both of these pair should have a winding coil filament connect between their respective pair of prongs. In your case, the winding coil filament could have broken off. Megaweb Clutched March 27, 2008 Author Share March 27, 2008 Thanks. I read the manual and it says my bulb is 21/5 watt, so there is dual filament which is 21 watt and 5 watt ? Is all bulb same size ? Any recommending brand ? Thanks again :)
Vtim 3rd Gear March 27, 2008 Share March 27, 2008 these are the dual filament type, most likely the 21watt (brake light) portion is blown but the 5watt is still working. there are two type, traditional P type and the newer Wedge type shown P21-5w.bmp W21-5w.bmp P21-5w.bmp W21-5w.bmp
Fcw75 Hypersonic March 27, 2008 Share March 27, 2008 (edited) Definitely bulb blown. Take out the bulb, go to any stockist with the sample to buy a new one then install it. Dun go workshop, sure kenna . Should costs ard $2-3 for the bulb? Brands like Osram, Philips, etc are fine. Edited March 27, 2008 by Fcw75
