Btwl Clutched April 3, 2008 Share April 3, 2008 I drive the 2.0 Camry a few times a week. The ride is on the stiff side. The engine is not as refined. Getting sian of it. Should have gotten the 2.4 instead. The build is not bad however - hardly any creaks after 1 year. ↡ Advertisement

Friendstar Supercharged April 3, 2008 Share April 3, 2008 just 1 year if u can hear creaks then might as well throw it away. my picnic 4 years still no creaks.
Friendstar Supercharged April 3, 2008 Share April 3, 2008 tried the mondeo, the engine is definitely disappointing.. its a 2.3l car..feeling is the same ford focus of the last decade.. rev unnecessarily, lags when u step on accelerator. looks big but cramp inside. interior is normal looking, only looked good in the website.. 15.2l/100km.. work out the sum, its 6.8km/litre.. and u'r a Honda boy. Guyver 1st Gear April 3, 2008 Share April 3, 2008 I highly doubt that Accord can overtake Camry. It is a Thai made and yet so expensive. Camry is also Thai make but cheaper. I will take Mark X anytime for that price ....

Camry is also Thai make but cheaper. honda thai not = toyota thai the prev generation accord is from thailand alreadi. N its been my family car for the 5th yr n i have to say tat other than a missing rear seat belt buckle upon delivery, never have i felt that it wld have been better to be a made-in-japan car in any way. the quality of its fittings is no different from CRV, civic, jazz. I still think the camry will definitely be more popular though. At that price range, a lot of options to spend ur money on Why is honda thai not = toyota thai? what grounds? made in bangkok versus made in phuket? Wt_know Supersonic April 3, 2008 Share April 3, 2008 (edited) i wonder why the japs make jdm accord looks so nice but international accord fugly. what is the motive ? same goes to the new camry (jdm looks more sporty in stock and sharp with bodykit) There will always be JDM accord but you need to buy from PI. its so sad that KM did not import the JDM accord, just look at the no. of PI JDM accords on the road... if KM has brought it in... confirm it will be flooding the streets... history gonna repeat itself... this new accord is quite ugly... infact it look like the sonata but with a uglier butt... and judging from all the spy pics of the new JDM accord... its gonna be another with killer looks... my take is this new KM accord will not sell very well... camry will still lead... Shull Turbocharged April 3, 2008 Share April 3, 2008 it's the jap culture..they like to keep the best thing for themselves.. my friend who went to jap b4 said that they have alot of high tech gadgets not found anywhere else in the world because the govt banned the export of such technology to foreign entity.. something like jap egos.. but for sure their AV gals are
Wt_know Supersonic April 3, 2008 Share April 3, 2008 but jdm accord and camry is allowed to export. at the end, both cars still leave japan and end up at another country. i understand that the japs make jdm model and international model because safety standard and requirements are different. hence, for cost advantage reasons they need to keep 2 variant. however, i don't understand why they keep 2 different looks and designs. 1 chio + 1 fugly

Yes when compared to the previous Camry the ride is harder but I actually prefer this 'cos think it improves the cornering. 2l car in big body when you accelerate sure to make noise but compared to the new Accord it is more refined in relative terms. Fyi I also tried the new Mazada 6 - tho Jap made noise insulation is not good and can easily hear tyre roar even at 50kph. Engine sound also clearly visible.
