Dummy QQ Driver Blocks Traffic

Did you see the number of cars in the middle lane in the pic? Let traffic slip past then filter right? Wow...

Reub... the yellowbox is that large to allow drivers like the qq to move into the further lanes where the box ends. If it was meant for him to turn into the leftmost lane then filter, the yellowbox would end at that lane.

 

This is like the yellowbox at the bus-stop along lavender st near the MRT. Its to allow buses to filter from the extreme left to the extreme right instead of filtering lane by lane, which would be near impossible at most times on that stretch. Likewise the yellowbox just after boat-quay covers two lanes as its designed to let cars out to max of the 2nd lane from the left rather than to the entrance of the street of your previous office. Of course the double continuous white lines after it means that vehicles should not even be able to filter and turn into that street, but it doesnt seem to stop many vehicles from doing it instead of going that extra 20-30m and turning at the traffic lights.

Why pick on sm1 who is trying to filter out to make a right or U-turn.

 

Thw yellow box is something to remind straight goin vehicles to give way to vehicles coming out of minor roads. So dun think the QQ is wrong.

 

If my memory serves me well, if u're a straight goin vehicle and stop inside the yellow box, u get an immediate failure on your TP test.

 

BTW i drive and ride too...

ya lah. the fault is not in the QQ but the 2nd lane idiots who block the YB. I really feel you can stop in the YB if you are turning out, that is the whole point of the YB, esp if the YB extends a few lanes, which is to help drivers get to the other side of the road.

 

Actually what irritated me the most is those drivers turning right who tries to cut queue and instead jam up the middle lane. I see this soooo often in peak hours and this is really one of the major causes of traffic jams. and most people don't horn. They just wait patiently in the middle lane for the driver to filter to the right lane. By the time the driver can filter to the right lane, the traffic light forward is red and the middle lane is stuck again....

 

I always try to horn loudly to discourage such behaviour. sometimes I wish I drive a tank so I can nudge those cars a bit to the side...

Free-flowing is free-flowing as far as you're concerned? Sorry, I didn't get the memo telling the world about you being made the final arbiter on traffic conditions or the definition of the English language.

 

Oh wait... I forgot you have 30 YEARS of DRIVING EXPERIENCE. Not to mention according to your good self, I was wearing diapers when you were at the wheel. Therefore you must be the foremost authority on all things on God's green earth, right? I guess that's why you define "free flowing traffic" to be the space of 2-3 car gaps on a jam packed road. Impressive.

 

Perhaps calling me a boy, making aspersions on my choice of underwear, and bragging about your multiple years of experience on the road makes you feel like a bigger and better man. However, it has absolutely no relevance on the bearings of this discussion, so feel free to throw more choice words and phrases at me - it simply reveals how ill-bred and incapable of holding a rational discussion you are.

 

Finally, it's usually the mistake of impatient, intolerant and ill-tempered people to wish and assume their prejudice and sins upon the whole world. Maybe it's easier to be an axxxxxe when you believe that the whole world is made up of axxxxxes as well, but self-delusion has never defined reality as a whole, and it sure ain't going to start doing so now.
