Everybody is in the same soup. The inflation is hitting everyone.

Yalor, we are not replacing someone who has resigned unless really needed. The vacancy will only be filled if we're pretty sure that the new position will bring in money for the company.

I know.. I used to have an admin staff clearing all my admin. then when she transfered to another dept, I was not allowed to hire a new staff.

Crazy, and then for almost half a yr, I was the one doing most of the admin job.

then I had enough of this shxt and took up the headhunter's offer and changed job.[rifle][furious]

Dun fret. My pal spends like 600 plus on his rex petrol bill. FC is incredibly mind blowing. Integra.sg forum got a post says that the gtr clocks like 1.7km/litre.... OUCH! [sweatdrop]

City should be able to clock pretty mileage, esp if IDSL. 12km/l is pretty good. Drive without air con and remove spare tyre. That can help to stretch ur mileage by a little bit more. Or, drive less. Take mrt less stress and cheaper. [idea]

If you buying the civic for better fc, dun bother... unless its a civic hybrid. The newer civic 1.8A doesn't give fantastic mileage (about 9km/l), according to an acquaintance.

9Km/l is probably an exceptional case rather than the norm. My FD2 is giving me 10.8km/h so I'm not complaining and I'm not a light footer.

whats ur car bro??

its because of honda city that is why i am "only" spending 300+.. haha..

i'm travelling about 2000km monthly.. if FC drop by 20%, cost will go up by at least 100 or so.. sigh.. [sweatdrop]

Take MRT/Bus doesn't mean less stress. It's a different kind of stress, especailly when you have pregnant wife & baby to bring along.

That said, the cost structure of car ownership / usage has changed a lot.

About 10 years ago, a Toyota Corolla with COE cost 100K +, I remember my buddy's father got a Corolla manual at something like $126K!!!! Now I'm paying for a a Cvic 1.8 at a little over $75k. But then 10 yrs ago, there was no ERP, now there's many everywhere.

So ownership cost is lower, but usage cost is up up and away.... [sweatdrop]

Exactly. Still remember the the model before the launch of G9. The cheapest is around 90K++ with high COE. Still see them on the road but mainly police car. Haiz. Just have to accept it. Owning a car is indeed very taxing as compared to past. [sweatdrop]

Actually if you work it out, it's no better no worst. Just that compared to the past, the fixed cost is now lower and the variable is higher. The only good thing is the variable cost is somewhat controllable. While in the past, you are stuck with a $90k car loan for a Corolla for a long long time (but that's one heck of a good car IMHO).

Then again, 10 years ago, a monthly expenditure of say... $1.5k per month on car and a monthly expenditure of the same amount on car nowadays have different impact. 10 years ago, a 3 - 4k per month pay slip was considered very well paid. Nowadays 3 - 4k borders on exploitation of cheap labour [:p]

Turbocharged

yah lah... last time i drove subaru vivio, only 660cc... cost me 80k+

then 4+ years ago, when toyota vios was first launched, i tot it's cheap at 70k... very happy then... but now... [:|][:|][dead]

anyway i have no regrets 'cos my old horse is still serving me great with no hiccups and the FC is quite ok, ~12km/l

of cos FC cannot compare to my vivio last time (i pumped v-power everytime cos it cost me at most $40 and provided my vivio with the power)
