Should i remove the D3?

Hi,

 

would like to check with ICE gurus that should i remove my rear speakers? i hardly hear any sound from the rear as the fader was like +2. The D3 is like no use.

 

current setup:

 

Front: FOCAL K2P upgraded(dashboard tweeters and mid on front door)

Rear: Diamond D3 (tweeters and mid on door)

 

PHD 4075 running FOCAL K2P

 

PHD 2050 running D3 and subwoofer.

Try and hear the difference with the D3 on and off using your HU fader. If you can live with the D3 off, then you can get some extra income by selling away the D3.

 

Most of us who're into SQ setups do not use rear speakers as it interfers with the sound stage and imaging.

what is SQ setup? actually the shop recommend coxial speakers for the rear, then i suggested to them to use my existing D3 so i don't need to buy the coxial speakers. is Rear speaker necessary? i really can't hear anything from the rear...(too soft)

There are basically 2 general types of setups. SQ and SPL. SQ = Sound Quality, SPL = Sound Pressure Level (aka Si Peh Loud). SQ focuses on trying to achieve audiophile grade music, coupled with tonality, staging, imaging, etc. SPL focuses on loudness without distortion.

 

Rear setup is not necessary if you want good staging and imaging. If you don't understand what are those, drop by one of the meetups. Anyone of us will be glad to let you audit our ICE, let you experience it, then explain to you.

Dun really need the rear speakers. Might affect your staging as what you want is your sound stage from the front.
