Koolaba 1st Gear June 21, 2008 Share June 21, 2008 These A5s are made in 2005, ex-stock brought in from other European RHD markets which were not sold. Some European markets prefer to have low specced versions out of cost consideration. I have seen Skodas sold in Europe without rear power windows and luxury items. This batch of A5s could have very well 'resided' in Europe for some time before arriving in singapore. ↡ Advertisement
Fortress Clutched June 22, 2008 Share June 22, 2008 If you can shade some light to this, how much different is the 2 types of Skoda in Europe. SOmehow, I think it is too cheap be believe.
Try_conti 2nd Gear June 23, 2008 Share June 23, 2008 (edited) perhaps TS could find out more about the manufacturing date to see if its indeed those which had been 'residing' in the other half of the world if its really manufactured in 2005, then its really been left around unused for too long already ..... Felipe 3rd Gear June 25, 2008 Share June 25, 2008 if its 2005 made, wen u sell, it'll be very good for the next buyer
Try_conti 2nd Gear June 25, 2008 Share June 25, 2008 why very good for the next buyer ? Is there a 'next' buyer in SG's context ? Probably want to scrap also must tiap the dealer to scrap ....
Othello Supersonic June 26, 2008 Share June 26, 2008 ya, why very good for next seller leh ? from the reactions of ALL my frens/colleagues who knows tt I'm driving a skoda, one would be VERY hardpressed to find anyone who wants to buy a skoda, let alone a 2nd hand skoda. only will appeal to fellow skodians .... Niteblu Neutral Newbie June 26, 2008 Share June 26, 2008 Not next seller lah. next buyer. Why good for next buyer? Simple. If MY05. Then the 1st buyer will get hit with a BIG depreciation bill. Since it's even older than the paper suggests. So next buyer buy CHEAP CHEAP.
Meganeii Neutral Newbie June 26, 2008 Share June 26, 2008 Bros need your comment on the A5 for $57888. It doesn't come with power window and remote car key after calling the sales person last saturday. Is it possible to fix the power window and convert the manual car key to remote? At what cost? Does it void the warranty? Thanks. Hi bro, I can feel from your posting that you are already half sold. If so, just go for it. What is resale value nowadays? Just drive something you like and afford. For instance, I'll never drive a China or Malaysian made car even if the Authorised Distributor sell it at COST! A conti car always have that immeasurable factor which cannot be compared monetarily Coming to your concern, a remote key can be fitted almost anywhere. In fact, there are now means to convert any car into a keyless entry and ignition (ie. Push Start) for around $1k. For your power windows, my opinion is not to alter the original as it will not be neat and durable. Come to think of it, children must be trained from young to behave themselves when the dad is driving. If they can wind down window without permission, they can also open your rear doors and jump off. So it is a matter of training bro. As long as you can bear with the manual windows, heck it lah
Othello Supersonic June 26, 2008 Share June 26, 2008 i agree with you. But in this case, where got people want to buy car think of next buyer one ??
Limlien Clutched June 26, 2008 Share June 26, 2008 One more point to add. If you really buy the car. Please drive as much as possible during the warranty period and make all the neccessary warranty even though no matter how small. Becoz u never know whats going to go wrong. U gotta believe in me! Felipe 3rd Gear June 26, 2008 Share June 26, 2008 its good for the next buyer if he sells it within 5 years, which most ppl do anyway. to scrap a car under 5 years is a costly affair. so wen its 2005 made, if he sells in 2011 after 3 years, the car is actually 6 years old and he'll have to let go at scrap

Modas88 Neutral Newbie June 26, 2008 Share June 26, 2008 if u buy the less prestige euro marques like skoda, fiat, renault, be preapred to be burnt bigtime if u sell it within the first 3-5 years. dealers will only give u $1-2K above paper value, and since the OMV is low, this will be correspondingly low so u better consider carefully whether ur prepared to drive this car for a long time

Agoodman 1st Gear June 26, 2008 Author Share June 26, 2008 Bros thanks for your comment. I still think that child safety is the most important. That's why I will stress on the needs of child lock, central locking system, anti pinching sensor and etc. Most probably will go for kia magentis by looking at the spec at 60k. ↡ Advertisement
