Of cos.. I almost everyday contributing one post there... In fact there is one particular new thread which i need to support... Is meant for those who had already collected their forte and discuss what minor problems they encounter.. To those owners, do all the brothers here a favor.. If you had some feedbacks or concern of your FORTE, pls post there... At least is to create some awareness to those who going collect their car. [thumbsup][rolleyes]

Collected my car tdy liao! 22km on the odo when i collected, 108km at the end of the day. Mileage for the day is 11km/l, 50% highway 50% residential. By the way, new batch of Forte has the actual FORTE word(this time metal) on the boot. Now it looks too cramped. Some pics i took below, more to come.

Forte dropped another 2k.... Really BULLSxxx on the price for this car. I got the pre launch price and the SE told me that because the discount is at $2k, so the COE bidding will be quite hard as compare with those that buy the car now. But now, seeing the price drop by 2k, which is same as those who brought it at pre-launch price, i am really seeing RED on how come i still have not got my COE after 3 tries. If C&C can give 2k discount for buyer now, they should be confident to get COE for them but i am not confident at all that C&C can get for me my COE. I thinking now whether is it my SE who is the troublemaker for all this problem, since i asked for solar film and he sound quite unwilling to do so. Going to call in later to request for change of SE. Really piss off. Maybe also see whether i can change the SE from ubi to the one at Alexandra. Very unhappy customer here......

Mistake, called up the Alexandra office and they told me the price drop was due to them bringing in a more simple model with just one air bag. But good news was, they are checking for me whether is it worth it for me to give up my 1k to C&C ubi and buy their car at alexandra, going to see what offer they can come out with. Hope for the best and the worst...

Selling a car in SG is complicated cos of the COE system, the only such system in the world. SG may have come up with lots smart traffic management ideas but this is NOT one of them and no other country is copying this system. For those who booked at pre-launch price of $44999 with leather seats, solar films for the 1.6A SX, I have done a calculation so that you would see see why CnC cannot bid too high for your COE.

Compare the Forte 1.6A SX / Altis 1.6A

omv 15719/ 16517

20% duty 3144/ 3303

gst 1320/ 1387

arf 15719/ 16517

reg fee 140/ 140

COE 5116/ 5116

total cost 41158/ 42980

Selling price 44999/ 55988

Gross profit 3841/ 13008

 

After deducting leather seats, solar films AND after deducting business cost like staff salary, sales commissions, rent, advertising etc. you can see how little their profit is.

Let say costs are $3000,

profit per Forte is 841 and Altis 10008.

 

At, pre launch, the COE at that time was $1020. The cut in the supply plus the overwhelming demand of the Forte has result in a supply crunch and thus driving COE price higher and thus at the pre-launch price, CnC cannot bid too high otherwise they will make a loss.

Anyway, its subject to 6 bids and people are complaining just after 3 bids like there is a breach of contract. In fact, technically even if they fail after 6 bidsn there is still no breach when you get your deposit back. Just like buying stocks,if you bid $5 for DBS you can be prepared for a long wait and there is no guarantee. Ever since the COE system started, it has always the case where the higher price you pay for your car, the better chance you are of getting your COE, its the same for anything, its LTA that made it this way by making it a bidding system. The only exception is when ADs are clearing old stocks to make for a new model and in such cases they are selling at almost cost and will even guaranteed you COE, I know cos I have bought before.

For a new model and one that is so popular, no AD wil sell to you at cost price cos they are not clearing stocks but rather, the opposite i.e. they are short on supply.

Well if I am selling at such a high margin, no problem, I can afford to bid higher, and pay for a higher COE.

Look around and you will see that selling a Forte is the most unprofitable.

BTW, I am in the banking & finance industry and not the car industry. I am just trying to defuse some tension here. Living here is already stressful enough, we should all learn to be patient and understanding to make it less stressful.

I didn't like the SE when I was in UBI so went to Alex instead... her look and replies as if I cannot afford to buy the car. When I ask about the solar film guess what she replied me.

 

SE: "I will throw it in if you can commit now but I know you won't right?" I was like only 5-10 mins into asking her the specs and freebies only, didn't even ask for a test drive yet.

 

Totally dissed.

Wah i will be damn pissed too if i hear that.. i think i would just turn my back on her and walk away.. What's with the attitude of the SEs nowadays [shakehead]

Precisely and I wasn't even dressed in drags. Attitude will only cost them their jobs. One SE disses us we can always pass the buck to another to earn no biggie really.
