Coltagious Neutral Newbie August 12, 2008 Share August 12, 2008 Halo, I do not think that there is any rotary that can be powered by the 12v power from our car. You will need abt 500w of power to run that machine properly. Most groomers in spore uses the Makita 9227 which is avail from most hardware shops. Btw, from your post, i assume that you only want to use that machine to detail your ride? If so, you might want to consider getting a PC7424 which is much easier to learn and manage. You can check out autogeek for more info on buying it. The only downside with this machine is that it runs on 110v, meaning you will need a step-down transformer to use with this machine. Hope this helps

Vroomtattat 2nd Gear August 12, 2008 Share August 12, 2008 (edited) Brudders! Porter Cable. Got mine online at Autogeek. Good service but a bit ex due to shipping charges and local delivery fees. Best thing is can track movement of shipment via Fedex Edited August 12, 2008 by Vroomtattat
Garlic 1st Gear August 12, 2008 Share August 12, 2008 (edited) If you are a beginner, suggest a DA like Bosch GEX270, Ryobi has a clone who looks similar. Price wise its in the mid $150+ range. 6.5" pads cost $18-$25 each depending on type. I started out with a DA and before advancing to Makita 9227, a rotary is faster but its also very unforgiving and harder to control. For light polishing, I suggest a DA. Adamvios Neutral Newbie August 12, 2008 Author Share August 12, 2008 Bro where can i buy ? Am i rit , using 12v from our car ?
Garlic 1st Gear August 12, 2008 Share August 12, 2008 There is also a list of local dealers at Bosch's SG website, Ryobi can be found at most hardware shops. Both machines require 240V AC. 12V machines are good for applying cleaner waxes or LSP at best. Do not use it with polishing compounds, machine polishes require a certain amount of heat and pressure to break down.
