Jurong crash claims two lives

As a result of a horrific crash, two people lost their lives in the early morning hours of Aug 30.

 

The Singapore Civil Defence Force released a statement about the accident.

 

In its release, the SCDF said:

 

"At 0147hrs, SCDF received a call informing that a car had rammed into a tree at the junction of Jurong Town Hall road and Jurong East Street 13 near Block 113.

 

"Upon receiving the notification, one fire engine, one Red Rhino, an Ambulance and a support appliance were despatched immediately to the incident location.

 

"On arrival, the crew found the white Mitsubishi Colt at the near side of lane 1 of the road.

 

"As a result of the accident, there were two casualties.

 

"Both male and female casualties in their mid-twenties were pronounced dead-on-arrival by SCDF paramedics.

 

"Of the two casualties, only the male driver was trapped at the driver seat and was released by SCDF using a hydraulic spreader and cutter."

that road is quite wide and the corner quite gradual..unless the car really cui, like those 60s/70s car..it should have no prob tackling that corner at speeds of 90-100kmh..

 

anything above 100 i dunno as i nv try b4..

The stretch of road is long, wide and straight. Drivers may be tempted to speed, and in this case someone lost control. Such a waste of young lives.

Theres usually a roadblock after that blind slope. Is that the junction? That junction got red light camera also. Light changes very very fast.
