Where to buy grated coconut in Sgp?

Seems like I can't find grated coconut in Sgp nowadays. Apart from those wet markets... where else can I get them?

only wet market.. particularly in Tekka ones. unless u can find another ah neh provis shop, even then, source for coconut is a problem and it take space, nobody like to keep a machine to service clients.

Was in Carrefour JB yesterday.... thei machine broke down .... now wondering where on earth can I buy them, expecially if I don't wanna wake up early in the morning to go to the wet market.

 

Any idea if giant sgp has them? or even sheng siong?

this type of labor intensive low return thing not much shops like to do. why u dun like tekka?

I'll try out cold storage & NTUC first.... I don't mind frozen ones now that I understand that there's such around.

unlikely u will find.. coconut turn sour easily after grated. try hunting ard tekka near buffalo road, clive road, hastings road, area for those ah neh store. i think along desker road/ lembu road, near to mustafar got those smaller ahneh store selling veggie, they may hv those grating machine.

ok... managed to find the packet one at Sheng Siong..... but...

 

It taste rather bland. It is dry and apparently has all its juices already extracted. So not good if one wants to extract the coconut milk, or intend to eat it as it is.

u meant dehydrated... yes, not fresh, just like frozen pork.

No... its not dehydrated.... just that it had its juices already extracted. It's still dmap/moist, and rather tasteless.

 

Guess it'll only be good if one intends to bake/fry it to use it only for the fragrance. (maybe bake into cake still can make it since there's other stuff added to spice it up )

 

Pretty useless when it comes to other uses.

Hi, don't know if you're still looking for grated coconut, there's a store at Bedok North Street 3 Blk 538 Market which sells fresh shredded coconuts too. Hope this helps
