Which Type of Gear Box you prefer?

but if I compare the DSG between jetta and Golf, I find that the golf change is faster..

 

not sure if they have different software mapping..

 

of coz with normal 4AT, it's going to be slow and plenty of power lost

you sure the noise comes from the gearbox ? when i tested the EX, the SE says is due to the exhaust. maybe abit from both.

perhaps the jetta is bigger in size. got to lup its heavier weight. wonder that will affect pulling, provided they have the difference in mapping.

2) jetta = more family image

You should add to your list the Selespeed and DSG gearboxes. Out of all of them (including your list), I prefer the DSG.

 

Definitely that DSG will be a better gearbox compared to all the Japanese gearbox as that will be the next generation gearbox for the Japanese to learn.

 

By looking at the comparison between AT and Xtronic CVT, I can see that the AT vehicle only lags a bit when viewing the YouTube video.

Yes, I agree as I also prefer MT and if not, AT will be good compared to CVT.

 

If you compared technically, CVT will be of higher maintenance compared to AT gearbox not to mention manual gearbox.

Golf GT's DSG is configured for quicker gear shifts compared to the DSG on the Jetta TSI

Haha.. I got sensitive hearing. Usually the engine note and tyre noise enough to drown out the CVT gearbox whine.

diesel is known to be more torquey. dunno is the engine or gearbox played more importance.

how is it when compared to GTi's ? is it the same configuration as the GT ?

 

there is a newly launched 7sp DSG in the golf 1.4 TSi (non-GT) different from the GT's 6sp DSG.
