Spas Neutral Newbie October 24, 2008 Share October 24, 2008 and when there is a technical rebound.... u lose some too... I bought way ahead of everything when STI was still 2300+. So any technical rebound has to be a 700 point increase in the STI for me to lose any amount of money. Who'd like to bet that that would happen in a month? Anyone? Besides, I already unloaded quite a bit after today's plunge. So I'm smiling so far. I bought some calls months earlier and did pretty okay when there was a brief two-day rally. I guess I've been lucky all this time . But I'm always tracking markets la - not that it matters much. But really, the market "direction" isn't hard to guess eh, as long as you're in the money deep enough la. Let's just see how much I can make from my last few lots la. Good thing I cashed out most of my shares earlier in the year. Now I'm just holding put warrants. And I'll be fishing for bargains soon. Let's hope my one-year lucky streak with warrants continues till Xmas. ↡ Advertisement
Spas Neutral Newbie October 24, 2008 Share October 24, 2008 Any explanation for today? Well Nikkei literally crashed on lotsa negative coy earnings. Sony was the highlight. Err.. OPEC cut oil supplies. UK also reported a fall in GDP few hours before mkt closed. Hang Seng and STI tends to track overnight US futures mkt also, and that one dropped an average of 4.5%. Looks like US market tonight's gonna be a slaughter. There's a possibility of a slight tech rebound on Monday, but we all know that that's not gonna help after today's plunge. A tech rebound of more than 5% is highly unlikely IMO. Think STI has a few hundred points to drop before it bottoms out la. It's a pretty exciting time. Terrible for others. I don't understand how some ppl can get into long positions when the recession barely started. I tend to trust economists more than broker/financial analyst reports. Agg demand oredi mati liao. Maybe we'll see stock markets recover mid-2009 la before overall economy has any semblance of warming up. Take care for whoever's having a tough time. Hang in there and brave the storm. Market regulation's gotta change.

Modykoh 1st Gear October 30, 2008 Share October 30, 2008 (edited) is actually everybodies guess. now market is purely on setiments( on anticipation of poor earning and recession) and any jitters spark another round of lau sai. US side, the 900 pts, most analysis believe it will not hold good. so got to trade with care. >>>Hey i was hoping for sti to close below 1500 yesterday .... alot of ppl are bleeding liao, any more of such, u see ppl poke kay ley. me still licking mye multi wounds... hee heee lolxx..
