Donut Supercharged October 9, 2008 Share October 9, 2008 ha.... wat to do... Education sector may not so highly paid jobs compared to other sectors, but its the most stable sector in the entire workforce. and every year, govt is always hiring more and more teachers and education administrators so in long run, we will benefit from its stability. in fact, we are anticipating even more applications during recessions coz ppl will take this period of time to study even more, while waiting for this recession period to be over.... so we are not afraid to raise fees. the other most stable sector is healthcare. Good times or bad times, ppl will still get sick.... so its very recession proof.
Donut Supercharged October 9, 2008 Share October 9, 2008 Recession-proof yes. But clients are getting more demanding, students getting bold AND stupid and teachers are asking for higher wages even in times like this. which other clients in other sectors are not more and more demanding?? Sosaria Twincharged October 9, 2008 Share October 9, 2008 Yup, even if you're venturing out by yourself and starting up a business, educational services is the way to go. Guaranteed success! And so easy, especially educational programmes for small kids. Look at the number of companies offering this... art class, phonics, speech/drama, dance, etc. And little kids don't have so high expectations! School kids also get edusave which they can use for external training/courses. Lots of business formed with all sorts of activities offered, all just to milk out the $. Teachers are also happy - no need to arrange or handle these activites - everything can be sub-con out... It's a win-win situation

Leslielai 1st Gear October 9, 2008 Share October 9, 2008 Recession-proof yes. But clients are getting more demanding, students getting bold AND stupid and teachers are asking for higher wages even in times like this. which other clients in other sectors are not more and more demanding?? Unlike other industries, we do not have total control of the end-product (in our case it would be the results of the students). Parents nowadays are demanding and ever-so-quick to push the blame onto teachers when their kids do not do well.
