Whichever shop you went to, please ensure that they use the relay provided.

I always change to Stebel Magnum 2 for my vehicles at Autotrend Toa Payoh.

$10-20 if you bring your own horns? I normally buy the horns with installation from them.

Remember, whichever shop you went to make sure they use the relay provided.

I read from another forum that newer car no need relay...and that's how they fix up on the Fit08..

anyway, I think I will drop by some workshop and ask them...any workshop to recommend in upper serangoon or AMK?

That's becos those installer are lazy. More work needs to be done to install additional relay.

Mine also no relay and horn working leh. What is the relay thing going to affect the horn? Heard that if no relay you blast too long the horn will not sound due to insufficient current ya?

Don't you think there's a reason why Stebel or Hella will include a relay in the box? [idea]

It's not so much the sound of the horns being affected due to insufficient current, more of an issue with the stock horn fuse blowing out & the possibility of melting the stock wiring because of ADDITIONAL current being required & drawn by the aftermarket horns. I've heard of even lazier installers who just pop in a larger fuse in place of the stock 10/15A horn fuse. Might be ok if the stock wiring is of sufficient gauge, else it's still safer to install the relay to draw current directly from the battery.

I've also installed 2 pairs of horns in my tiny little car. One pair is a Mercedes stock Klaxon, the other is a traditional Stebel trumpet air-horns. Reason being that my previous workplace was in a container yard, with prime movers & Kalmar cranes all over the place. Needed something to alert them that my puny car is nearby, prevent myself from getting squashed like a bug. [:p]
