Normal_aspirated Clutched January 31, 2009 Share January 31, 2009 What is your car's compression ratio and is it turbocharged? u run it at what boost? if NA then forget about octane booster..the only thing it boost is your ego aye, aye.
Rb26dett Clutched February 1, 2009 Share February 1, 2009 recently for my trip up north to pahang , i bought afew bottles of STP octane booster and add it for every full tank top up. one thing i realize is that during top ups when i remove the gas tank cap i can hear like some air/gas gushing out from the tank.is that normal ? cos i nv experience such thing before during normal top up of fuel . and after using that i realize my exhaust temp readings are higher than normal even under normal cruising condition. LOL... I hear the air/gas gushing out from the tank during hot days and even on normal days. You dun drive frequently? Or you rely too much on the pump attendants to do it for you? Fatboynos Neutral Newbie February 2, 2009 Share February 2, 2009 (edited) I use this NOS cleaner when I go to KL; 2 btls for 2 way and it really helps :- http://www.permatex.com/products/Automotiv...ce_Enhancer.htm Mine car is NA and not JDM so Octane Booster might not be required but defintely think it is better than the common advertised brands in Singapore. Think it is now hard to get in Singapore; think they sponsored an 'Ang Moh' rider in the Sepang ProAm MotorGP in 2007/08 so should be OK for bikes as well. I used to use NOS Octane Booster on my 800cc and 1100cc bike before. For the initial tank of petrol, throttle response is very good and fast, with at least 5-10% improve. Engine very very smooth and less vibration under high speed (280). On my previous bike which is a 800cc V4 engine, my 3rd get achive 10km/h more when hitting red line comparing before pouring in the OB. subsequent tank the "punching power" no more there, but engine will running smooth, response good and lesser vibration. iirc, last about 6-9 tanks. Dwoon 1st Gear February 4, 2009 Share February 4, 2009 (edited) Wah..... the toluene I brought up for my Samui trip...... 3 layers of wrapping up in plastic bags also no use..... smell until steam man. Only took them out from the car when I reached the hotel in Samui. Then did addtional 2 layers of wrap for the 2 bottles on return leg..... smell not so strong... but still have. So if you're bringing this stuff along.... think its best to avoid the 4 litre plastic containers. (which I had 5 of them). Just stick to one 20 ltr drum.... which I think the smell will be reduced as its only 1 main opening compared to 5 individual ones. (of course 4ltr containers easier to pour/handle) Then whenever I fill up and bring out the large funnel..... the thai pump attendants will give me a dirty and impatient look....... dunno what's their bl00dy problem. Not that there's evn any cars waiting behind to pump. Edited February 4, 2009 by Dwoon

Mits_jc 5th Gear February 22, 2009 Share February 22, 2009 V-Power don't think will affect since all petroleum distillates, but I think wallet power will be affected.

Gim_ong Neutral Newbie February 23, 2009 Share February 23, 2009 How much One bottle of OB ? i saw from Petrol Station 1 bottle of STP OCtance Booster cost like $13 Won;t it be better by just pump V-power.. ? How many litres of V-power I can get for $13. unless there is a Better G-force... or More HP gain when Added to V-power. if not i dun think is worth it. V-power does give the "kick" compare to Ron 98 Cheers
