Passion 5th Gear February 7, 2009 Share February 7, 2009 Just use any brand,as long as you take care of your car and change ATF frequently,any ATF should work the same.For my last car,I change every 20k,Spark plug,oil,oil and air filter every 10K.And it works well until don't know what went wrong.Definitely the gearbox and engine is still ok. Dwoon 1st Gear February 10, 2009 Share February 10, 2009 The cheapest that gets the job done. Do note that Toyota T-IV ATF seems to be slightly thicker than say Schaeffer, Castrol or Mobil 1. I ever watched a documentary that a Jap guru advice is to change ATF together with each Engine oil change to prolong the lifespan and relibaility of the gearbox. Regards, I fitted a aftermarket ATF cooler too due to my model(Ford) inherent transmission problem. The integrated ATF cooler in the radiator tend to leak and once the coolant get into the transmission, that it.
