Gadgeter 2nd Gear February 13, 2009 Share February 13, 2009 like many have mentioned, I also encounter kuku driver who drove out of the lot without checking for traffic. As such, I normally turn on my headlight when I enter MSCP. ↡ Advertisement

Jsf777 1st Gear February 13, 2009 Share February 13, 2009 Me too, pretty useful feature and at least I am not some who turn on headlight and fog light during the day and turn off headlight in the night. my car too has this useful feature...but i was told that this auto feature can spoiled easily if you pass thru bridges, short tunnels etc when it came on and off after a few seconds...any truth to it? Carlover76 Neutral Newbie February 13, 2009 Share February 13, 2009 my car too has this useful feature...but i was told that this auto feature can spoiled easily if you pass thru bridges, short tunnels etc when it came on and off after a few seconds...any truth to it? Different manufacturer adopt different timer delay cos I notice that Toyota auto headlight is very fast to switch on and off but Nissan auto headlight will have a delay of few seconds. Auto headlight with a delay will be much better as you might be passing by a bridge at fast speed then the auto headlight will not turn on, I was told that if the auto headlight is fast without delay, it might spoilt the bulb easily but if it is HID then it is ok. Not sure how true though.
Nirxe Clutched February 13, 2009 Share February 13, 2009 Realised that many drivers turn on headlight automatically upon entering any carparks, even if they are not covered up and are brightly lit up! Is it a old habit carry forward from yester-years? Were you given that piece of advice when you started driving? Just felt that it is not really necessary nowadays with most of the carparks as they are generally well illuminated. Really not logical and waste of energy. What do you think? My car doesn't come with the auto headlight feature when lighting conditions are poor and I don't have the practice of turning them manually when entering a carpark. Ekardo Clutched February 18, 2009 Share February 18, 2009 TS like kanna self pwn.. anyway, I also turn light when I go into MSCP..the light serve as a estimation on how near my front is to the pillar or wall...for i am still a rookie driver.. Blueegg Clutched February 18, 2009 Share February 18, 2009 I will switch on the headlight when I enter any MSCP or basement carpark. It's for better visibility...so that others can see me coming. There are just too many speeding cars in the carpark...or those only looking for lots and don't really keep a look out for cars. Yah. Frigging idiots speeding in carparks, especially MSCP. And people who simply drive out of the lots while their line of sight is blocked by the pillar. I even lower my window a little so that I can hear any vehicles starting up or moving off just so that I can have a bit of pre-alert. Damn these idiots. Jitm Neutral Newbie February 18, 2009 Share February 18, 2009 (edited) We should turn on our headlights : 1. When driving in tunnels even if for a short distance. 2. When it rains even if it is a light rain (drizzle maybe not) 3. In the morning especially driving kids to school. 4. In the evening when it gets darker, even if it is before 7pm. 5. In any MSCP whether basement or higher level. 6. In high rise factories or workshops where cars go go to every level. Especially if the driveway is between 2 rows of workshop. Hishercar Clutched February 18, 2009 Share February 18, 2009 how to ensure that the car infront is not thinking that you are "disturbing" him some of us have automatic headlights that turn on when in the dark I remember passing by a bridge, because it is dark underneath the headlights turn on and quickly turn off as I past the bridge there is may appear as if someone is flashing their headlights fortunately the guy infront knows that there are some drivers that dont realize that some cars have this automatic feature
Subutai 3rd Gear February 18, 2009 Share February 18, 2009 Its a good habit to do so as some bros also pointed out, to see better and to be seen by others.
Toapayohkid 1st Gear February 19, 2009 Share February 19, 2009 i always turn on lights inside mscp day or night. not for me to see the road, more for other drivers to see my lights and know that there are other cars around the corner. safety. Whattafarck 1st Gear February 19, 2009 Share February 19, 2009 i think its good practice to turn on headlights in mscp..though at my place...its quite bright & clear... just err on the cautiious side ...for safety of others.. more than a few occasions...kids...students runnig & dashing inside the carparks..when they notice the lights then they behave like they are on the Road Safety Park...all over again! ↡ Advertisement
