  4. http://www.straitstimes.com/tech/third-virtual-mobile-telco-enters-market?utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&xtor=CS1-10 Zero1 eyes slice of the pie with aggressive pricing for unlimited mobile data plan Irene Tham Senior Tech Correspondent A new virtual mobile telco wants to challenge the status quo by introducing an unlimited mobile data plan at rock-bottom prices. Starting today, Zero1 will be pre-registering customers on its website for the $19-a-month plan that will be launched next month. This price is for the first 3,000 registrations. After that, it will cost $29.99 a month. The plan comes with 200 minutes of local talk time and 200 SMS messages. Even at the higher price, it is one-third the current market price. Zero1 is the third virtual mobile telco to enter Singapore after Circles.Life and Zero Mobile. Virtual telcos do not build their own physical mobile networks, but lease them wholesale from one of the existing telcos. Zero1 leases from Singtel. Zero1's CEO Stuart Tan said the low price requires it to manage the surfing speed of heavy users in a way that will not slow down that of other users on the network. Specifically, the download speed for high-definition videos will be capped after the first 3GB of data allowance is used. This limit, Mr Tan claims, will not reduce the speed of many other services including YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp calls. Zero1 hopes to sign up 50,000 subscribers - about 1 per cent of the post-paid market - in its first year of operation. It plans to set itself apart from rivals by offering free voice roaming via its Zero1 app, slated to be launched in June. With the app, subscribers will be able to call and receive calls from any Singapore mobile or landline number for free while roaming overseas. ST_20170913_VCDATA13_3411919.jpg Related Story Unlimited mobile data: It's back but can it replace home Internet? This is done using call-forwarding technology Mr Tan developed, patented and launched early last year. The technology is embedded in a device called Qongle, sold for $199. It helps travellers avoid expensive roaming fees, ranging from 35 cents to $6 a minute depending on the destination country, or inconvenient workarounds to reduce roaming rates such as buying a SIM card in the destination country. Qongle's technology is now embedded in Zero1's backend systems. Mobile data roaming rates will apply but the rates will be announced later. In June, the firm will also launch tiered data plans and value-added services such as music and live concert streaming on virtual reality platforms. Zero1, which received its operating licence from the Infocomm Media Development Authority late last year, has raised a few million dollars from private investors. They include Zone Telecom, a telephony and networking services firm that belongs to the Hong Kong-listed e-Kong Group conglomerate.
  5. Why no increase on MY motorcycle ??? Yahoo news : Foreign-registered vehicles will have to pay more to enter Singapore From the start of August, it will cost 75 per cent more to drive into Singapore with a car registered overseas. Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) is raising the vehicle entry permit fees for foreign-registered cars from $20 to $35 per day. For goods vehicles, the fee will be hiked fourfold to $40 per month. Both revised fees will kick in from 1 August, said LTA in a statement, but buses, taxis and motorcycles will not be affected by the hike. Also, all vehicles still do not have to pay fees to enter Singapore on weekends, public holidays and between 5pm and 2am on other days, with these hours extended to between 12 noon and 2am during the June and December school holidays in Singapore. Further, while owners of foreign-registered goods vehicles can still purchase permits at the existing $10 monthly fee this month, any permit that holds validity beyond July will be charged at $40 per calendar month. “The cost difference (between owning and using a foreign-registered vehicle as opposed to a Singapore-registered one) has widened in recent years, giving rise to the need to revise the (fees),” the agency said. link: https://sg.news.yahoo.com/foreign-registered-vehicles-will-have-to-pay-more-to-enter-singapore-032558889.html The way the MY m/cycle cutting in and out of traffic flow should be checked ...
  6. It feature a 0.9Liter straight-3 engine with output of 90 bhp and 135 nm of torque Just that maybe the COE now may cost this car over 100k+ , if not this car is worth it , as it has only a 0.9liter engine = low tax 90bhp and 135nm of torque = enough to drive around Singapore road and i bet it's more fuel saving then a Honda Fit but not a prius.

  14. hoho....the milking begun VISITORS to Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) will have to pay a premium to take a taxi from the integrated resort when it opens next week. Four taxi companies have confirmed that they will impose a $3 surcharge for trips that begin at the IR. Premier Taxis will be the first - it will start charging on Jan 18 - followed by SMRT on Jan 20 and Prime Taxis on Jan 28. Trans-Cab will follow suit, but has not confirmed a start date. Smart Cabs said it will join in, if most of the other companies impose the surcharge. The lone exception: ComfortDelgro, which is far and away the largest taxi company in Singapore. The companies that are imposing the surcharge say they are doing it to ensure taxi drivers will find it worth their while to cross into Sentosa.

  18. Realised that many drivers turn on headlight automatically upon entering any carparks, even if they are not covered up and are brightly lit up! Is it a old habit carry forward from yester-years? Were you given that piece of advice when you started driving? Just felt that it is not really necessary nowadays with most of the carparks as they are generally well illuminated. Really not logical and waste of energy. What do you think?

  22. Hi All, Please beware when you enter any lucky draw in future. Marketing ppl r getting more sly these days. My personal encounter: Recently, on 31 Dec 07, received an sms saying that my application for XXXXX credit card has been approved and will be send to me within 3 days, and if I do not receive the card in 3days please call this number. I called up the credit card company and told them I received this sms even though I did not apply for their card. They investigated and told me that I have automatically applied for their card while entering a lucky draw when I pay my bills using those A*S machines/kiosks located in malls or petrol stations. At the end of paying bill using those kiosks, there is those lucky draw thingy where you r required to enter your contact details. And that is how they got my contact for application. This is really ridiculous! how can a lucky draw contest be associated with credit card application. From this lesson, I will reminder myself not to enter any lucky draw contest or survey anymore. Regards Orac
  23. Hi bro, Just came to my mind, since M'sia came to mind, since msia goin to impose RM20 for entering msia, do you think it is still worth for spore to impose 3/4 rule on all spore car, imagive, they have to standy manpower(min 2) at the counter t check all the car and cause the time to leave the checkpoint longer. But usually spore goverment will still want to earn money from the natural resources like us lah. Any opinion?
