Parkingidiot 1st Gear May 4, 2009 Share May 4, 2009 Was on the PIE toward Changi Airport when saw a flash of light from atop a pedestrian overhead bridge. Copontop!! It was the famous stretch of PIE beside Bedok Town Park where the speed limit wierdly drops from 90 to 80 and then back to 90 about a km later. Did not expect it as it was 10pm last night. I think it was on the car in front of me.... or could have been me!? Will find out in a few days time. Don't expect too harsh, was keeping close to speed limit, at the most was 8-10kph above, due to the 90-80-90 effect. FYI, MCFers... MIW doing OT on Sunday nite at 10pm.... ↡ Advertisement

Parkingidiot 1st Gear May 4, 2009 Author Share May 4, 2009 i dun think so leh..Tp dun work at night leh... moreover there are tP cars waiting at expressway ... It was definately white ant. When the flash occured, I looked up and saw him. He was on the middle of the bridge, aiming at lane one. With the tripod mounted cam. 10pm on Sunday nite.... sheesh..... On my return journey about 12am, I kept a sharp lookout, but the bridge was clear. Looks like he covered his quota and went home for well-deserved rest. Dwoon 1st Gear May 4, 2009 Share May 4, 2009 For the last week, I saw on 4 occasions (which is a record sighting for me) the ambushes. Twice was on the AMK Ave 5 pedestrain overhead bridge near Auotpoint. Once for the Upper Thomson pedestrain overhead bridge outside SICC. Once for the pedestrain overhead bridge along lornie outside the Bukit course. Wonder why the sudden increase.

(2) Visible flash of that power might cause temporary blindness, not only to you, but to all other cars around you, thus increasing the chances of an accident. That's the reason all stationary speed cam take your backside.. If TP were to operate at night on overhead bridge, my guess is that they'll use IR camera..which won't cause blindness because it's out of the visible wavelength of human eyes
Blueray Hypersonic May 4, 2009 Share May 4, 2009 so far only see TP on overhead bridges at Thomson, Lornie, PIE Toa Payoh during the day. at night its the Subarus along TPE, KJE ... one day very funny, a TP was at the Lornie overhead bridge in the afternoon and a few guys stood nearby and started smoking ... btw, they do work on Sundays now. I'll wait hopefully for the next two-three weeks for NO sign of TP letter in the mail, before I sigh a breath of relief.... might be some amateur photographers who forgot to turn off flash.. if the fella IS really TP..then you can write a kpkb letter to them pointing out the danger of direct flashing into driver's eyes.. Carcraze 1st Gear May 4, 2009 Share May 4, 2009 (edited) it could just be a photographer trying to capture some movement shots. TP camera doesn't make use of flash. Edited May 4, 2009 by Carcraze ↡ Advertisement
