Honda Stream Facelift

Any news of engine? Still using R18A/R20A huh.

Maybe tis facelift is put on makeup only.

Should be the same R18A / R20A engine, but with some tuning to improve on FC, as read on the net. Yah, facelift for most Japanese cars are cosmetic only. German are taking facelift more seriously as the model cycle are a little longer, so engine tuning is needed to keep the model going for another say 3 or more years.

Saw somewhere in older thread that Freed has better interior space than stream... Is this true?

Freed is indeed more spacious than Stream, especially the head room. One can walk effortlessly from 1st row of Freed to the 3rd, but not for Stream.

speculation about hybrid stream on wiki

Not so soon, imo. If put in the battery pack, chances is that 3rd row will have to go. More possible for next generation Stream, as by that time, Lithium battery would have become the standard used for hybrid, and it is suppose to be more flexible for shaping and shall take up less space.

Picture speak a thousand words...

Interior Dimension of Freed

For your info and comparison, interior height of Stream is 1,250mm, while that of the one size larger Toyota Estima is 1,255mm. Furthermore, Freed has captain seat on 2nd row, which create a small clearance for walk through to 3rd row... ;)

yaya... saw this diagram ... someone posted it together with stream's... Couldnt believe my eyes when Freed is proven by the numbers to have larger interior...

Just curious, like that what is the motivation for getting stream?? A nicer looking, more powerful, more prestige MPV?

Go and see Freed yourself and chances is that you will know why. To begin with, Freed has very plasticky interior (imagine the door panel has no fabric insert). Next, while the 1.5 i-VTEC is good for normal city driving, going full load at high speed and on long distance might be a little stretch for the otherwise FC friendly MPV.

Last but not least, the pricing of Freed is a tag too high, here in Singapore, as compared to Stream (relatively). Most people would not mind paying a few $'000 for a better spec (look, features, engine, etc.) MPV.

IMO, for space and ease of access and FC, Freed is the better choice, otherwise Stream is the one to go... [drivingcar]

My same sentiments. The concept of freed is good but pity the interior. Price is also on high side compared to the omv. Guess PI are pushing up margins as they benchmark this against the stream. I'm sure we will see more freed if they price it more competitively. keeping fingers crossed that they come up with a freed with better door panels and interior soon.

Actually in the recent months, price of Freed has been coming down and distancing from Stream (for some PIs), probably preparing to fight with KM's Freed in the next 2 months. BTW, I had already seen a few units of Freed at one of KM's storage site, and the car should be ready for viewing / booking very soon.

And is it just me, there seems to be more new Freed (with "SJN" or newer plate) running on our road in the past weeks... the lower price does attract more buyer, or that most of the buyers are previously looking at the Toyota Sienta??

You are right, I seen quite many new Freed recently [thumbsup] A good car but too bad the interior can not make it and car look a bit "cheapo" [lipsrsealed]

Maybe paving path for facelift improvement? Just like Honda always like to keep LED taillight and sportier bumper for facelift... ;)

Want to hear from a M5 onwer, how do you find access to the 3rd row for M5 and Freed? I have tried once on M5 and Freed and find the later a little better, probably due to different in head room clearance.
