FinalNitro 2nd Gear October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 Sorry for the anti-climax. The SA is so cock-up. My servicing was done by mid morning. Only at 3pm , the SA called me to tell me that car alarm is not fixeable for Sylphy. As for the autocar lock, they dun have it and need to wait for stock to arrive. And it will be fixed by 3rd party. The best part is when i asked why my servicing took so long, he said it was done in the morning, but they had to wait for the 3rd party vendor to come to TC to assess if the autolock was fixable. Eventually i wasted half the morning waiting and eventually neither was done and they kept me and my car waiting for a couple of hours. So for the bros out there, dun bother about both. Kudos to you bro. They should have informed you when the servicing was done. So are you still getting the autolock done? ↡ Advertisement
Cicada1810 1st Gear October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 Kudos to you bro. They should have informed you when the servicing was done. So are you still getting the autolock done? Nay. Forget it. No point actually. My kid can still manually unlock from within. Plus, autolock by itself will cost $90. To clarify, u can install autolock on its own. Labour takes 2hr. So i see no point. I rather child lock. Hope this helps for the bros thinking of autolock as well. Not worth the trouble.

I think it is cheaper and faster to get it online and fix it yourself. Cost SGD 40+ (shipping another SGD10+). For installation just plug into the ODB. How is the autocrat lock function? Another remote control? If you forgetto lock your car after you lleft, will it autolock after sometime? The ODB type, when your car move to around 10 to 15km/h it auto-lock. You can use your remote to unlock your car and if you did not open the door for I don't know how long (less than a minutes, did not time it), it will auto-lock the car again. The child lock is to prevent children from opening the door from inside, but our car does not auto-lock when it move and pick up speed. Unlike the G9 Corolla and the old Sunny, which come with the auto-lock. This OBD auto-lock ( I got online) will auto-lock all doors when car is around 10 to 15km/h, if you use your remote to unlock your car doors and did not open any door within a given time, it will auto-lock the car again. This OBD also comes with alarm, which is too sensitvie for my liking. Actually, even without the autolock function, the doors will still relock if you unlock the car but doors unopened for 30sec. Ok, I didn't try the remote without the ODB. Only try the remote after I fixed the OBD auto-lock.
Cicada1810 1st Gear October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 Ive grown to realise that that's precisely how Nissan manage to keep the cost of the Sylphy low. Stuff like autolock, car alarm and side indicators are good to have but not critical. Adding these would bump up the price. Just to update as well on the TMC for the navi. I asked TC as well and they told me that the TMC module is not available locally. Great...I wonder why then the opening screen for the default Navi stated otherwise by LTA. All in all, Im still happy with my Sylphy. No regrets!
Juuzbe Clutched October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 yesterday sent my car to service also take quite sometime. Booked 10am, only can complete by 3pm+. Aircon didn't ask, just tell them the problem, they said will do a 'reset' to it. screen also did not say much say go to TPY branch will be able to check, they not able to check over there. All in all quite happy with Sylphy, just that need to get use to it. Maybe the engine seems quiet, there are times just get out of car not realising did not off engine and lock the doors and want to walk off. But there is a peep sound that makes you not able to lock the doors. Forgot to ask the service center, regarding the HU. Had tried the bluetooth syncing with my iphone and it works with calling. However when I load all my contacts from phone to the system, the calling function/bluetooth function will hang. Probably will only active back after you off enginer for quite sometime and turn on back again. for car mat, login to www.duo.com.sg you are given some duo points when you buy the car and you can use the points to redeem the car mat. what is this duo.com.sg about? didn't hear any about this. FinalNitro 2nd Gear October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 (edited) True lah. The car is relatively affordable (I don't use cheap haha), you pay for what you get. Overall after owning the car 5 months and over 3k mileage (low mileage driver), everything is good. If I am not being fussy, the only trouble I have is getting used to the CVT. No doubts it provides smoothness, efficiency and no issues going to 100km/h on expressways, but it's missing the much needed acceleration when lets say.. The light sudden changed colour.. (WHOOPS) p.s. If you want a quick servicing, book the first appointment. My 5k servicing was done within 30mins, for first appointment at Ubi, around 8:30am. Yeah can anyone elaborate on the duo thingy? Do I have to sign up myself? How about the points? Edited October 1, 2015 by FinalNitro

Columbian78 6th Gear October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 I have the duo points, my sales made sure I signed up for it and get the points. I was on 2 bids guranteed Coe back in oct 2014, but I do not know if only guranteed Coe gets it. Each dollar you spend on the car purchase price gets u 1 point, minus the Coe value. Hence usually u get around 50 to 70 thousand points with a car purchase. Can use the points to redeem for items or services from the tan chong business empire like car servicing, rental and even serviced aprtments. Check it out on the duo website. The program is shared with Subaru as they are all under tan chong. I figure my points are worth about $1000+ or so.

It does not give you more engine output but make the response feels sharper. I did install one of these in my 1.6t though my objective is to help me drive smoother and save fuel by using the Eco mode. I tried the sports mode and it does make the whole drivetrain including the cvt more lively than when it is off. Such devices should not void warranty and are not illegal as they do not alter engine specs. You can read more from the qq thread. One will cost about 300 to 400 incl installation. It is easy to switch modes or off it totally.

We did not go for any guaranteed COE but got ours in first bid. Anyway if w top up almost same amt as points sia. He hehe. So will buy the mats in cash, no choice. Due to dark cushion, the seats or sides gets dirty easily, hence needs to buy some cleaning agent for leather too.

Btw, I did not go for the guarantee COE but did top up after 2 bids, any difference? And if I sign up for an account now, do I still get the points from my car price? Columbian78 6th Gear October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 Brothers, better call up your sales to ask about the duo account and points if you do not have it. In case you should have it but the sales forgot. I got mine duo account with online login and pw on the day I booked a car. Then the points came in after I got my Coe and car.

I describe it as such. For sports mode, U depress the pedal less to achieve the same acceleration push, hence it feels the car is more powerful. It just feels so, not really more powerful. The controller simply alters the response curve to make the throttle open bigger at smaller pedal push. Overall I find that for the price, it is a nice fun gadget to install. Gives the driver more things to play with to alter the driving exp. There are several levels to make the response more sporty or Eco. For me it is the Eco mode that made me install it. For the past week, I think my fc has improved about 20%. Not becos it made the car drink less with the same driving pattern but it made the driver drives more efficiently. But from what I understand, the throttle controller alter's the throttle input. Hence eco mode makes the throttle less "sensitive", won't the car feel underpowered and less acceleration? P.s. 1.6T for your SSS not powerful enough for you? Fast and furious you. ↡ Advertisement
