Esso 95 v Shell 95

I used to pump shell. No reason why, maybe because of its brand name and convenience as they have plentiful of stations everywhere.

As I was trying to save a bit of $, and esso seems to give more discount with by citibank dividend card, I changed to esso.

Surprisingly, I find that esso 95 is smoother and seems to give more power than shell 95. Anyone with similar experiences?

I shared this with one of my colleagues and she told me that she thought the same as well, but refused to believe in it.

My previous car (carburattor engine) I do find esso95 can get more power than shell 95. But shell 95 feel a bit smoother/softer.

Different cars react differently to the same petrol.

Neutral Newbie

Pumped both b4. No difference to me. Just pumped whichever most conveniently located and with best deal (points, discounts, etc).

long time ago when it is still esso...yes....engine sound smoother then shell....and yes it is very obvious....then esso buy mobil liao...but funny they call the station mobil....don't know why the effect gone liao...so i just stick to the one with the most convenient station to me...so i choose shell....very long time never pump mobil liao...but the esso tiger times were good...

I have switched from Shell 95 to Esso 95 since 2 years ago. I feel both about the same. Equally good or equally bad. [:p]

I will not go back to Shell cos Esso got more discount (with dividend card).

I'm same as you... with citibank dividend more discount with Esso... but somehow feel that Shell gives better FC... power wise can't comment.

just follow your preference, if you think u can fly with esso, stick with it.... if u search thru the forum, there are supporters for diff brand/grade petrol.... there are also people who always go for the lower price.

Some people believe their saloon car can turn into F1 racing cars by pumping Vroom power, while others believe that their car will get explode if they pump 92..... nobody is righ or wrong, so long if you are happy paying your hard earn money to those bandits who will never fail to rob additional dollar from you by keep increasing the petrol price, just go for it. On my ride, i get 10km/l on esso95, 11km/l on shell95 and 12km/l on caltex platinum. These readings were taken averaged over 4 tanks each. Esso95 really CMI.

I always heard that Esso suited Getz but I was using Techron cos I thot those

little people would clean my engine.

Then one day I tried Esso cos no Caltex nearby and found that it really suited Getz

so I am on Esso now.
