Evolve Neutral Newbie July 21, 2009 Share July 21, 2009 Am looking at the new E Class E250, C&C as usual is priced way higher than the PIs. Now that C&C is no longer the exclusive for Mercedes, I'm tempted to go via the PI route. Those that are offering this car are Kruise Auto, First Automobile and Citiprime Credit. All cars come with 5 years warranty at Comfort Delgro. Does anyone have any experience with these PIs? Am curious to know. I've been loyal to C&C for the last 3 E Class models but I figure it might be a good time for a change. ↡ Advertisement

Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear July 22, 2009 Share July 22, 2009 well, C&C has their Mercedes-Benz centre for your service reception...PI don't have anything... but you do get to save quite a bit from the PI...easily 20k and above...
Rahul Neutral Newbie July 22, 2009 Share July 22, 2009 Hi Evolve, I got a call from the sales rep as well. Found the pricing unnecessarily steep especially when I read somewhere that in the US the new model is priced lower than the earlier model. Hence I am pretty much inclined to explore all options. I am still not able to figure out why it is so important to buy from C&C instead of a PI. With the kind of roads Singapore has and the kind of driving I do ( about 10k kms per year ) what can possibly go wrong to a car ? The car would just need regular servicing for which comfort delgro should be just fine. Or is it just a function of resale value ? You pay more to C&C and you get more when you resell ? If anybody could enlighten on the same it would be great. Will have full details tomorrow when I see her. Will update then.

Ahdi Neutral Newbie July 22, 2009 Share July 22, 2009 i'm not a supporter for MERC nor BMW, C&C or PML. but i kinda feel that continential cars are equipped with a lot of sensor. thus getting a failed sensor could be quite a hassle. its my dad 4th merc from a C200, E200, E200K to E240. the car has quite a few sensor problems. till now the W211 E240 has the SRS airbag problem. it happens a few time during the warranty period and it got rectified by C&C, but ever since the warranty is over, the problem has not been rectified. Thus my concern is are PI willng to honour all these, given the comfort delgro warranty, how experience are they with the car. moreover, the new W212 is a newly launched model, i believe there are quite a lot of problem to be rectified during the initial launch stage. i just got a letter from C&C inviting me to go down and view their launch on 13 or 14aug. Akula Turbocharged July 22, 2009 Share July 22, 2009 Jus a point to take note, PI cars will most probably have a much lower OMV Can be as much as/more than $10K ......
Hungee Neutral Newbie July 22, 2009 Share July 22, 2009 VINCAR also carries Merc, their warranty is by MBM (a workshop in Sin Ming Autocare). Saw many merc being serviced by them. So I guess they should have the required knowledge & skill. Do agreed with fellow forumer that mentioned OMV is also lower. So please note and compare. Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear July 22, 2009 Share July 22, 2009 lower OMV means you get to buy at a lower price, sell at a lower price...see those C&C Merc, end up selling as low as PI ones... best is you buy at the lowest possible value...

If anybody could enlighten on the same it would be great. To buy from C&C or PI it all depends on individual due to the amount of electronics n sensors in the car. C&C should be able to rectify/know the problem based on the fault code while Comfort may not. You can choose not to go comfort and visit other reliable conti workshop but parts replacement will be charge accordingly and it will not come cheap esp if it is sensors, spark plug header etc. PI Merc will have lower OMV but since u buy at a lower price I tink is fair and square. Maybe you will like to visit sgmerc and find out their opinion at the same time know some of the conti workshops they visit, eurohaust is one of them if i not mistaken. *I'm not related in anyway to the said wksh. dun flame me pls *

Lawrencelee80 Neutral Newbie March 2, 2010 Share March 2, 2010 (edited) Hi all. To buy from PI or C&C is based on individual. Price wise, of course PIs are selling cheaper due to the lower of OMV and Specs diff(From what i have understand from friends around me). Servicing wise, C&C is sure to be much better than Comfort Delgro. Example: Paintwork. You can see the diff in between C&C and other workshops. So is up to you who you want to buy from because end of the day is the after service and not who you buy from. And just for your info, Comfort Delgro only does NORMAL SERVICING. For MAJOR REPAIR, they will refer you to KANG'S AUTOMATIC PTE LTD. Anyway, your warranty is under TWM Pte Ltd. Extramint Clutched March 4, 2010 Share March 4, 2010 im getting the delivery of an e-250 avantgarde model nxt week.. from PI. so far, we have been hearing more good stuffs (not really good, just comforting to hear as buyers) from friends of our families in the car industry that now PI gaining more market share. mostly due to ridiculous pricing from agent lah.. the more expensive conti makes like mercedes benz etc. and coverage also improving. however, no matter how much the PI companies have improved, i still strongly suggest buying from a company that is big, reputable and most importantly is.. when you know the boss directly. for my dad, its that case. so we are able to throw all our worries out of the window. this is actually the first PI car for my family so it might just change our perception of getting PI cars. if this experience is decent (dont have to be outstandingly good), we might just continue with getting PI cars because the costs saved are already substantial. Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear March 4, 2010 Share March 4, 2010 better to get from PI lah... OMV only a few thousand dollars cheaper... but PI don't earn much on profit margin such as C&C... you can even bargain with PI if you're truly sincere on buying the car...which i don't think you can do so with C&C... PI Mercedes E-Class has more or less the same features as C&C...plus you can indent your own feature car from PI much faster time than C&C... what's deterring people from buying PI imported Mercedes then?? ↡ Advertisement
